Guildhall Young Artists Taunton Free Workshops and Events
Guildhall Young Artists (GYA) Taunton hosts free workshops and masterclasses throughout the day from students and alumni from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, as well as professional artists visiting the Southwest.
Workshops and masterclasses are open to all GYA Taunton students. We also very much welcome anyone who is not a GYA Taunton member and interested to find out more about our performing arts centre.
To find out more and to book a place for any of our workshops or masterclasses, please email gyataunton@gsmd.ac.uk.
Any upcoming workshops and events will be listed below.
French international concert pianist Patrick Hemmerlé will be at Guildhall Young Artists Taunton from 10am to 4pm to give piano masterclasses for advance piano learners of any age, ideally Grade 6+. £50 per participant (financial support available).
There will be a closing public concert by piano masterclass participants at 5.30pm to 6.30pm; free admission to concert, all welcome.
If you'd like to take part as a pianist in the masterclass, or know someone who would be interested, please email normandypianocourses@hotmail.com.
Piano students may also come to listen and observe any part of the day. This experience can be very enriching pianistically, musically and culturally, as one can gain ideas on how to practice or overcome obstacles in one’s own playing.
On the previous evening, Friday 27 September, Patrick Hemmerlé will be giving a piano recital at St John's Church, Taunton, at 7.30pm.
The music will include pieces by Bach, Beethoven and Liszt, and it promises to be wonderful.
Tickets are £12 - £18, free for children, and available from quantocks@live.co.uk or Taunton TIC or Ticketsource.
The team from GYA Taunton would love to see you at either or both of these events.
