I didn’t think other characters were gonna top Lily & Nico from this series for me, but Ollie is really giving them a run for their money.
I love Meadow and I want to be her friend so bad.
Ollie and Meadow are each other’s first love from when they were young, and haven’t seen each other in years. In those years they have a lot of perceptions that aren’t necessarily based on fact. We all have that stuff we haven’t let go of from when we were younger, especially if it has to do with family right? It’s so real and it’s beautiful to watch them start to resolve it (even though they’re scared) and help each other with it as well.
I don’t always like second chance and I loved every second of this one, it was well done and made a lot of sense for the characters.
There are one or two things I would probably change about this or wish maybe happened slightly differently, but overall 98% of this book I was emotional mess and eating it ALL up.
While I’m sure you could enjoy this book as a standalone, I would highly suggest reading the others in this series first. I felt like since I knew Ollie from the other books I could jump in with both feet, and I think it really helped me enjoy and like it as much as I did. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much without knowing him a bit already.
It was a beautiful end to this series, though I’d love to see a couple of the other characters get their happy endings too! Maybe in other series? We’ll see :)

I definitely felt like it was harder to enjoy the first part and really appreciate it knowing the hurt was coming, but it was done much better than I expected and realistic in a way I was worried it wouldn’t be. It worked for their story and I’m glad to have read it even when it crushed me! ...more

At the end of the day I loved both the main characters and related to them both in different ways, and enjoyed their story! I definitely read it at the right time. ...more

Emmy goes back to her hometown and gets closer to her brother’s best friend in a way she never expected. Luke hasn’t really seen Emmy for long since she’s left and only for short periods of time. That quickly changes as they work together on her family’s ranch and Luke helps her more then she expected.
Also I want a friend like Teddy.
I would classify this as a bit of a slow burn but it’s worth it. I honestly just wish it was a little longer or we got a bit more at the end but I know this is the start of a universe so hopefully well see lots of cameos in future books. ...more

I listened to a virtual talk on release day of this book and Becka Mack said this is the first book she ever annotated and if you need more convincing then that I’m not sure you’re where you are supposed to be.
There are so many amazing parts in this book I know I will go back and reread, and I really just wanted Nova and Charlie to find their happiness throughout the story :)

I love Addie and Cooper both separately and together. Addie gives off the confidence that of corse Oakley and Ava’s daughter would have, but she’s so much deeper too. Cooper helps her feel seen and safe in a way I think she’s been craving.
I’ve loved Cooper since he was a kid in his dad Adam’s book, and his character is exactly what you would think he’d be. A caring teacher who takes care of everyone in his life. I’m happy they end up having each other in the end. ...more
