I was definitely a little worried about it after meeting the characters in the other stories though just not sure how Stephanie was going to make it work, but she pulled it off so well and I should have known better than to doubt her!!!
I was laughing at Hayden and Darcy’s friend antics from the beginning, wanting to be Darcy’s friend to help build her up like she deserved, and jealous of the care and attention Hayden gives not only to Darcy but everyone in his life!
Also plus of seeing Rory Miller again (The Fake Out is still my fav of this series)
Hayden and Darcy are so much more than meet the eye and just such real characters, this is another great one by Stephanie! Definitely recommend it.
And the crumbs for book four?!?!?!?!? I’m already dying for it....more

I don’t usually like military stuff but I didn’t mind it with Hank, it was part of him but not all of him. He’s just trying to find his footing in his adult life.
Their true meet cute when they finally actually start talking is great and written so well!
Rebecca always preaches on her social writing relatable characters and situations and she definitely accomplished that! I felt like I could be in their friend group and happy there and enjoy being around them.

I love that it’s a marriage in crisis where the characters aren’t divorced and it’s not truly second chance, but that they are working through things and falling in love with their long term partner again. Brandon and Katie are both Fanta characters and I love seeing where everyone else is in Leade Park too. Brandon loves Katie so much but makes mistakes because we’re humans and this is a REALISTIC romance which is a nice change of page from some of them.
Honestly the reason it wasn’t 5 stars for me was just because I wanted a little more at the end, but I often feel like that I’m books. I feel like there was a situation that was handled quickly after the lead up there and I wanted a little more discussion or time with it, but that’s also very real life! I think Allie wrote a fantastic book exactly how it seemed she intended too and I would recommend it! Thanks for the ARC ❤️...more

If you like banter, people with walls up who are maybe soft inside, and getting to see how they really feel in their thoughts - you will LOVE this book. It’s a perfect example of why it’s so great having dual POV in romance books and knowing what someone’s really thinking inside.
This is my new favorite Stephanie book and one of my top reads of 2023, and that’s saying a lot since she has some bangers and it has been a good book year.
Just read it if you’re thinking about it. It’s a sweet comfort read for sure and it’ll be out on KU December 7th!

If you haven’t ready The Romance is Dead I highly suggest reading it first to get the best experience for this book!
Joy is grumpy and closed off for a billion reasons, but really she just needs someone to chose her first and let her be. Enter Jacob, who won’t leave her alone even when she wants him to.
He’s the perfect sweet, caring, and confident guy to compliment Joy.
This was a fun rom com style read for sure! ...more

I haven’t laughed out loud (seriously) this much while reading a book maybe ever.
Jordy and Annie are adorable, awkward, and both think the other one is out of their league. It’s just not true on any level and they work better than either of them could even imagine.
I love friends with benefits type books where the idiots don’t know they’re falling in love, and that’s exactly what this was. If you read the first book in this series you know Sarah’s writing is great and this little coastal town is a great backdrop.

Stephanie knew exactly what she was doing - aka this quote:
"I’m vaguely aware of a dog barking and racing around the apartment behind him, but my gaze follows his movement as he props a hand on the doorframe. His sleeves are pushed up, and my gaze lingers on his forearm. Jamie Streicher’s forearms could get a woman pregnant."
I loved it so much, it's a bit of a slow burn but when you get to the spice it's SO worth it. It makes sense for the characters and how they’re relationship grows over time.
The character development, and the characters finally admitting to their feelings, feels so real and perfect. And they communicate well once they do it, even through some struggles and crap from other people. They unwaveringly support each other.
Also who doesn't love a cute dog? Especially one a grumpy goalie doesn't admit he loves for over half the book while showing he does with actions - exhibit A below:
"Am I… starting to like this dog? I frown at her, and she pants and wags her tail. I snort."
This is a fantastic fun read. I cannot wait for this series to continue - and make sure you read the bonus chapter for this book too! Highly recommend. ...more

As someone who was raised catholic as well, there was so many ways to relate to Declan. Phoebe’s work situation is too real in nonprofit/education work and Nellie knows just how to portray that perfectly.
And the poor boy has been down BAD for Phoebes for years. Not that he’s been alone in that. Luckily Phoebe gets some liquid courage one night and they start on their romantic journey.
It’s amazing to see them heal individually and together, as well as growing as individuals. Bi icons through and through as well.
