What to Know

Critics Consensus

Zoolander No. 2 has more celebrity cameos than laughs -- and its meager handful of memorable gags outnumbers the few worthwhile ideas discernible in its scattershot rehash of a script.

Angie Han Slashfilm Far too much of the film feels a laundry list of references to the original. Jun 14, 2017 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com While not a film likely to have a lot in the way of staying power, I still enjoyed Zoolander 2, the sequel reminding me that Stiller is a creatively inspired director who should probably step behind the camera more often than he right now does. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Chesapeake Family Magazine Failing to tap into practically any of the charm of its predecessor is Zoolander 2, a supposed comedy devoid of practically any creativity and humor. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 2, 2016 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The audience leaves the theater thinking, "It took them 15 years to come up with this?!" Rated: 1/4 Apr 22, 2022 Full Review Bill Chambers Film Freak Central If my seven years on Twitter have taught me anything, it's that bitterness rarely brings the funny. Rated: 2/4 Mar 3, 2022 Full Review Olly Richards NME (New Musical Express) Ben Stiller reprises his role as a former model in a throwaway but amusing sequel. Nick S I don’t care what anyone says, I thought it was hilarious 🤣 Sutherland’s cameo had me in stitches! The film is just so ridiculous, over the top and stupid, it’s genius. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Dani G Extremely stupid, full of fun cameos. It makes you laugh with so much silliness Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/30/24 Full Review Twiggy H The film writing (or at least the movie's story) was really awful. Not to say there wasn't some great comedic scenes. The acting was fine with plenty of famous faces, but overall was gimmicky and a tad tacky. The ending was weak - not even sure why it bothered having had that movie made. In fact, really bored of the notion of a fashion themed movie which was only ever really a 'austin powers wannabe' action-comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/24 Full Review Diger 4 This movie is ok not as good as the first one but still takes you on a ride for your life jokes might not stick the same but the cast save the movie with Ben stiller and Owen Wilson. The one scene was a little weird for it's time but the movie might not have the staying power as the first one and it might not last as long as it should. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review Lois M Its so bad that its so good Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Pandah S Terrible energy, no jokes , CRINGE cultural references and to top it all off you can tell Ben and Owen don’t even remember how their characters acted . All of this would have been overcome if they just wrote better jokes , but I feel like it’s the writing , the main actors exhausted with acting in general and the modern setting that make this a terrible experience .
