Good performances...especially from Ray Milland raise this film above somewhat contrived material. But there is a bit of clever writing here and Loretta Young is as radiant as ever. Edmund Gwen lends welcome support. It wants to be another His Girl Friday, but only partially succeeds. Young almost passes for a feminist, Milland is befuddled, Patrick- annoyingly sweet, and Gwenn the Father-in-Law you always wanted. Perfect casting.
