I honestly can’t think of a better analogy for our current algorithm-driven existence that promises to give us just what we want Rated: 3/4 Sep 10, 2024 Full Review Calum Cooper Cinerama Film Compelling, beautiful, dark, funny, horrifying, and everything in between, Coraline should be recognised for what it is: one of animated cinema’s greatest offerings. Mike P Classic children's tale...Coraline is a lonely, quirky little 11 year old girl who discovers a strange Netherworld while exploring around her new house one afternoon...Filled with Dopplegangers with buttons for eyes...And this is kind of The Chronicles of Narnia by way of Tim Burton; and it's written by American Gods creator Neil Gaiman; this enchantingly dark little children's fable...which is very entertaining and original; with striking visuals. This has been called an animated horror movie for kids...And it's not really that...It's more just a highly unique fairy tale with a very dark and original perspective... Highly recommended. I don't like it quite as much now because the dialogue is very weak and immature. But it remains a great film because of it's absolutely beautiful and experimental visuals.
