The premise of this series is good. But you have to be able to stomach men being not just alpha, but SERIOUS self serving assholes. Great for you if that is your thing.

Earth Witches Aren't Easy (Chance Monroe Book 1) by Heather Long
Didn't finish this, which was *my fault entirely*. I can't remember how I picked this up, but I hadn't spotted it's about a serial killer, which I really dislike in my books.

But, I can at least mention the bits I did read. I was expecting something light-hearted, which the first couple of chapters mostly delivered. The setting was mildly intriguing, and the writing was okay; the bit that jarred on me was frequent use of hyphenated adjectives (you know, "black-clad" and "gem-encrusted" and so on) that were missing their hyphens. Might be an issue with the ebook rather than the writing, of course.

I'm not leaving any star rating because I don't feel it would be fair.

BTW, Chance needs to start charging clients for costs incurred to avoid further boot-loss disasters.… (more)

Some Like It Royal (Going Royal Book 1) by Heather Long
This book was an enjoyable read. It had romance and a bit on intrigue but it was fairly light. I like a bit more body to my story but it was perfectly pleasant and nice I just wanted a bit more.
