Review to come.

Initial thoughts:
I am broken. Will anything else I read ever make me feel so much?

How can I possibly review this? I don’t know if I can actually bear to read Mercenaries. I’m not okay.

“Vadim kissed that hand again, looked up. ‘We won’t die. We’ll never die. I promise.’ He’d promise anything, meant it, would die defending this man, would live and die and suffer for him. ‘Never alone again. Rest. I’ll be here.’ He tried a smile, took Dan’s hand and ran it over his face. ‘We fucking deserve more than what we got so far. We’ll take it. Just get ourselves something...more.’ Vadim had no idea what that more was, apart from being together…”

“No, Vadim. No.” Dan’s dark eyes were unforgivingly intense. “You must not die for me, not ever. You must live for me, you understand?” His fingertips touched Vadim’s, that were resting on his face. “Give me your word, you will live for me, whatever happens. Even if I never see you again. I need to believe that somewhere, out there, you are alive.”"

Candy M. Ok but the fact that you ended up loving part 2 so much... I'm supposed to finish my current book 😭 it's getting hard not to drop it! And I get how you're a mess. This is excellent but very emotionally taxing. Looking forward to your full take, Rielle!

Rielle @Candy- If you haven’t read Part 2 of Soldiers, then you are missing out on some extremely beautiful payoff from the first part. I read some spoilers on the next books and I think I understand why you didn’t read them. I’m not sure I will read them yet. This was kind of perfect for me. I’m so conflicted.

I've been putting it off after lovingggg part 1 (one of my favorite reading experiences in forever), so since I still think I won't be reading the sequels and consider this more of a standalone, I've been delaying it because I don't want it to be over —delayed gratification is something I excel at lol. I'm super intrigued by what you'll think if you *do* end up reading the rest, though.
