This was an easy read with some scorching hot smut included. I was in the mood for this type of book and this one managed to scratch that itch. I actually got this one from a book box sub and I was definitely intrigued mostly because of the stalker aspect. it's book three in a larger connected series but I did manage to read this as a standalone with no issues, I'll admit I'd probably have appreciated this more if I'd initially read the first two in the series as there were some recurring characters, so some added background would have made me feel more connection but it can also easily be read on its own.
This focuses on Katie and Mac, there's a criminal element involved and also some history to their story. Mac is the brother of Katie's newish sister-in-law and he's been quietly obsessed with her for the last two years. Not that she has any idea. Katie is oblivious, she's also completely cowed and under the control of her abusive and narcissistic boyfriend who is the lead singer in the band The Gilded Knife, I think the band is called.
Initially, I found Katie hard to relate to, the way she behaved and her mindset were totally battered down, and her self-esteem was in tatters. I do think some of this is down to her background as well as her boyfriend Tommy's treatment, but it was still a hard watch. Also, be aware this book has triggers for SA from Tommy and it's not glossed over either, he's just not a good guy and it does take Katie a while to catch up to that and stop making excuses for him.
Mac inserts himself into Katie's life initially thinking he stands no chance with the girl of his dreams. He mostly wants her to wake up a realise her worth and leave Tommy. Before long his obsessive desires for Katie explode especially when Katie seems to get off on their games just as much as he does. The only issue is she has no idea her mysterious stalker is Mac and when she does realise he knows it will be game over for him. I felt sorry for Mac the guy has it bad and it's obvious he worships the ground Katie walks on.
The smut with this one is on point, totally depraved and contains equal praise and degradation play. This is definitely where this story shines most and I'll be honest this one's more smut than plot, but I enjoyed and appreciated this for exactly what it was. If the plot had been a bit more I would have rated it much higher, but the steam basically carries it. We do have some danger and a slight suspense storyline included but still this one I read mostly for the filth and also because I have a thing for sexy depraved dirty-talking stalkers in masks which I don't mind admitting to you.
This was a really pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting it to be so heart-warming but it was. Melanie is having a bad day fired from her[image] [image]
This was a really pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting it to be so heart-warming but it was. Melanie is having a bad day fired from her high-end job due to her father's crimes, her father's facing jail time, when an unusual offer from an unexpected place sees her agreeing to have a baby with a mysterious stranger all to spare her father his fate. If Melanie agrees to act as an incubator her father will be taken somewhere safe and all she has to do is take a year out of her life, for Melanie who has never wanted kids it seems the only option to save her father.
So Melanie finds herself in the middle of nowhere at a ranch with only Xavier for company. Xavier who insists he's her master and calls her my pet and later precious. Who feeds her by hand and expects obedience and control in all things. He treats her like one of his wild horses taming and earning her trust and it's not long before Melanie finds she's no longer just playing along, but actually wants this life and man for herself.
Xavier is a conundrum, a huge beast of a man who is methodical and stern but also gentle and kind he's a strange mix of all of these traits and there is a method to his madness and an end game. He also has trauma of his own, a mysterious past hence the isolation, he also has physical scars something that Melanie stops noticing the longer she is around him.
This was actually really heartwarming and such a sweet love story despite the initial beginning between these two and despite the majority of this it only being Xavier and Melanie, I wasn't once bored. Be aware this story has BDSM elements, nothing too extreme though. I'll definitely be picking up more from this author in the future.

I adore this series so was excited to get stuck into my latest fix, this newest delicious orc tale is M/M/F and focuses on the Grisk clan specifically Varinn and Thrain who both have an ongoing and extremely tempestuous relationship with each other. These two have been completely infatuated with each other since boyhood when a pivotal traumatic event forced them both into close proximity. Though they care deeply for each other Varinn has always longed for a mate and child to carry on his scent line something that Thrain is obviously unable to give him.
Kitty is a female who has been taught to use all of her many assets to ensure her own survival. When events place her directly in Thrain’s path and also being vulnerable after her long-term protector threw her away like yesterday's rubbish Kitty now finds herself in a perilous situation. Abandoned and pregnant with an Orcling on the way she does the only thing she can and sets off to Orc Mountain encountering Varinn along the way. The circumstances behind Kitty’s situation and Thrain’s thoughtless behaviour setting the course for all that is to come.
This one initially had a lot of angst we are also dealing with an addiction as Thrain has severe issues with the drink and had done for many years. Varinn’s first impressions of Kitty or Katherine as he calls her are harsh he thinks her a certain type of female and he isn’t shy about letting her know he thinks this either. What begins as one thing though swiftly morphs into something deeper and Kitty finds herself wanting this all to be real wanting both Orcs for her mates and protectors. But it’s certainly not plain sailing Thrain has some serious demons and Varinn can be closed off and overly harsh and has a deep need for control.
This one was just as hot as its predecessor's lots with copious amounts of fluids and sexy times as usual this was incredibly explicit and that is definitely one of my favourite things regarding this series. I definitely appreciated that Kitty wasn’t your typical heroine she was way more worldly and experienced due to her profession and life experiences but she was also vulnerable and eager to please her prior life and the men in it have been far from kind, but once Varinn got over himself and realised just what a treasure he had acquired in her it did become a whole lot easier.
This also had a heavy praise and control kink and the spice was through the roof these three were seriously filthy together but also incredibly sweet as well. I enjoyed this a lot and as usual, the writing was excellent. The world-building was again good and I also loved catching up with all of the usual recurring faces that reside at Orc Mountain this was another definite winner for me I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Beauty and the Orcs.

Arranged marriage mafia stories are my happy place and this was an enjoyable one. It wasn’t majorly angsty and was quite instalove which I’m not always a fan of but I found myself appreciating the simplistic aspect of this and it was refreshing to witness a couple both on the same page for once.
To solidify ties between the Bratva and Costa Nostra Amara Bianchi and Nikolai Petrox are to wed sight unseen. He’s a dark merciless killer whilst Amara is just eighteen and innocent. From the instant, Nikolai lays eyes on his bride to be he’s entranced and vows to protect her from any harm including that by her own father. He also can’t wait to corrupt and dirty her up and he’s delighted when they seem to fit so well.
Amara was actually quite passive which wasn’t surprising considering her controlled upbringing. She was quite happy to allow her husband the reins and their physical connection because of this was hot as hades. I definitely adored the combination of the filth and praise and felt it struck just the right balance.
This was an easy simple read with little angst the romance itself wasn’t that dark these two liked it rather rough but their connection together was sweet if you discount the fact that Nikolai will take anyone apart who dares even look at his wife sideways. He doesn’t change and Amara accepts him for exactly who he is. This did feel authentic as this is the only life she’s ever known so to her it’s all relatively normal and Nikolai does treat her like his treasure.
If you like easy mafia-arranged marriage stories but like the darkness to be because of the world rather than the romance itself then this is the one for you. Nikolai treats Amara like a princess unless it’s time to get their freak on then she’s his little doll.
Not my favourite its told in a time jump fashion and it seems to bounce around all over the place I’m not a fan of this type of narratio[image] [image]
Not my favourite its told in a time jump fashion and it seems to bounce around all over the place I’m not a fan of this type of narration but if it’s done well I can sometimes get with it but here it just felt clunky and erratic and all over the place. It had all of my favourite tropes mafia age-gap possessive over-the-top male but none of it was working for me. The female lead Celia was so bloody annoying irritating and incredibly immature. I just cannot see a man in his thirties finding that behaviour in any way attractive.
And the logic behind some things in this book just didn’t make a lot of sense. Celia’s dad is meant to be this big tough mafia don and his reasoning behind certain behaviours towards his family was just flawed it made practically zero sense. The mother is just as bad and why what point were they both actually making their actions could actually accomplish the opposite of their intentions and then there’s the effect on the girl's self-esteem. Then we had certain side characters that also made limited sense take that classmate of Celia’s the reasonings behind his actions were just plain stupid and unrealistic.
I eventually started to skim-read this and I finished because I was hoping it would start to improve unfortunately it didn’t. The way this is narrated felt chaotic the constant time-jumps also made it at times hard to comprehend it just didn’t flow fluently for me. I ended up not caring about any of the characters involved and wasn’t invested in their outcome either. Celia and Milos really made it far more complicated than it needed to be that’s for sure.
The sex though was hot both Celia and Milos did seem to have plenty of chemistry which was a relief it mostly had at times an intensely controlling dub consent tone but then also a decent amount of praise kink so think my good girl and all that jazz then it was mixed up with plenty of dirty smut talk and Milo sure had a filthy mouth that I did like.
This one wasn’t really my jam I just couldn’t connect on paper this should have been perfect for me as it ticked a lot of my boxes unfortunately I struggled.

I devoured this it just hit the right spot for me I adore age gap romances and this one had such a decadent kinky vibe that I really appreciated. It also had a bit of the forbidden being that she was his son's ex-girlfriend but mostly it was the dynamic between Charlotte and Emerson that I just adored. Be aware this one has quite a large age difference twenty-one to forty and also some Kink vibes as well nothing OTT but during the course of this Charlotte evolves and blossoms.
After splitting with her boyfriend Charlie needs the deposit on their apartment back but it’s been sent to her ex’s dad who was the co-signer. Needing the money Charlotte approaches Emerson and he instantly mistakes her for someone else causing a whole lot of I wish the floor would swallow me up when he realises just who she actually is.
Emerson is part owner of the Salacious players club initially working in the event industry he and his friends decided to branch out into a dating service that matches like-minded people with their kinks. The club is the pinnacle of their objective a safe place to explore mutual intimacies. Emerson is currently estranged from his son who doesn’t approve of his father's lifestyle thinking him a deviant and perverted.
In an effort to attempt to reconnect with him Emerson decides to hire Charlotte as his secretary hoping it will bring his son back into his life. The usual girls he hires are less secretary and more sub but that isn’t what he expects from Charlotte but now he can’t seem to get her off of his mind finding himself craving her in a way he didn’t expect and the longer he spends in her company the more perfect for him she seems.
This was relatively slow burn the sizzling tension and attraction ramped up so you could feel the crackling intensity and repressed desires. It’s quite apparent these two want nothing more than to indulge in all of their mutual urges together but Charlotte's ex is now the roadblock that stands in their way. Mostly because of Emerson and his desire for a relationship with his son. This was probably my only complaint here I felt Emerson places far too much importance on his son's feelings. The man was a grown-up and treated his dad abysmally he also wasn’t the best boyfriend constantly belittling Charlotte and he even cheated on her and then provided lame excuses I just didn’t think he deserved the consideration he got he wasn’t exactly a child and Charlotte had ended things before she even met Emerson. Though I did understand Emerson’s desire for his son back in his life so got why he thought the way he did.
The intimate scenes between these two were red-hot and the chemistry and heat incredible. I adored the praise kink and found it to be the best I’ve experienced to date in a romance novel. I loved how Emerson tried to encourage Charlotte to see her own worth even though I despaired at his flawed reasoning when it came to his son. I mean he was willing to give up a future with someone he loved and adored and was perfect for him in order to appease his son. I felt for Charlotte in this as you could see her wheels turning she just wanted him to acknowledge her right to her own happiness. I also appreciated the LGBTQ inclusion I have a family member going through a similar journey and think it was handled sensitively and also found it relatable.
This was a great read and I’m definitely going to dive into book two next. The writing here was an easy fit and this was well written. I definitely recommend reading this it exceeded my expectations by a mile.
