Back in my happy place, I adore this series and this one was a bloody beast of a read. As usual, I enjoyed myself immensely. I love a good redemption story and this had that element and more. Though this can probably be read as a standalone I would suggest reading from the very beginning as there is so much nuance and backstory that you'll just appreciate it much more, especially because you'll get to reacquaint yourself with a whole host of previous characters.
This one occurs mostly away from the mountain and features Lady Louisa Scall. She's a widow with a tortured past and because of her experiences has some definite trauma. She's currently residing deeply in debt on a portion of her deceased husband's land that she managed to claim for her own.
When she is approached by Killick a Skai Orc, a bargain is struck, for ten nights she will make herself available for his heart mate Ulfarr, the disgraced wolf of clan Skai, an Orc with a traumatic backstory that has left deep wounds both physical and emotional. In return for this and the presence of an orc camp on Louisa's land, Killick will clear her debts leaving her free from the threat of eviction by her odious neighbour, the nephew of her former husband.
This was deeply emotional and as usual, the explicit antics are mixed in with the serious message. That's my favourite part about this series the way it combines the two so effortlessly. It's totally filthy and doesn't hold back in that department but it's also so much more than just the smutt as well.
I adored both Killick and Ulfarr their dynamic intrigued me. The bluntness of Killick, he has a vicious tongue and high standards and expects Louisa to dance to his tune and then the shell of Ulfarr with occasional glimpses of his former self showing I was at times completely heartbroken for him. But the bond between these two Orcs is so clear.
Add into this mix Louisa and she just slots right into place. She's the glue these two need to forge forward and though Killick may have at first been looking for a woman for Ulfarr it's not long before he's also wanting her for himself. The constant battling of words and her ability to face him head-on impresses him and these two show their emerging affection through insults it's their language of love.
I also adored that we are focusing here on older individuals, I found that refreshing and that this seemed less angsty than previous books maybe because of the ages of the characters. We also got to witness a proper Skai rut which was an eye-opener for sure.
This one is M/M/F dynamic, it's totally filthy but also incredibly healing, such an easy well well-written read that I enjoyed so much. This is an auto-buy series for me and I always say that each book is my new favourite and it honestly is, until the next one and I'm In love, all over again. So truthfully I adore them all for different reasons. Be aware that it is very explicit and doesn't hold back on its descriptive language, which honestly is one of the things that I love about it. So If Orcs are your thing then this series is a blinder and gets my seal of approval. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of the Widow and the Orcs.

This is book two in the Orc's Forged series a prequel series connected to the main one Orc Sworn. It's a M/M Fantasy romance and can easily be read before the main series and as a standalone. This had an enemy-to-lovers theme and focused on Aulis Gerrard and Olarr of clan Bautul. The former is a lieutenant in the army and Olarr is an Orc on the opposing force.
When Olarr spares Gerrard it sets in motion a series of encounters between these two enemies but instead of animosity and continued violent skirmishes their battles evolve into something else, each encounter further solidifying a deeper and long-lasting trust and two totally different individuals slowly start to realise they have more in common than they could have ever imagined.
This had the usual filthy vibe I've come to expect and anticipate from this series with plenty of passion and over-the-top hook-ups but it also had a sweeter vibe that i adored and it's obvious these two fell head over heels despite them being so at odds initially
There was also the origins of the main series sprinkled in here and an underlying story arc involving some danger that also needed to be resolved. As usual, this was entertaining and well-written and I definitely enjoyed it a lot. Another great addition to this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Fall of the Orc.

A filthy but also incredibly sweet yule time festive story of novella length that manages to bring both the heat and the heart in equal measures. If you're a fan of this series here we have a Christmas-themed treat that's sure to hit the sweet spot.
It's a ménage of novella length with an M/M/F set-up. sigtryggr of Clan Skai is after a mate to complete his home. This is where Lydia comes in when Tryg decides she may be just the woman to accept his sweet Elskan.
Ezog of Clan Bautul longs for a female alongside his bond with Tryg but due to his ruined visage and many scars this task seems a pipe dream until that is his lover and lifemate finds the perfect mate in Lydia a washerwoman and widow who is living a lonely existence since her husband's passing. This Yule tide all of their dreams are about to be answered.
I especially adored that these characters were all older I found that refreshing and relatable and despite the explicitness of this which if you've read this series you'll realise this is an ongoing theme this short story also had so much heart. Totally loved this one. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Yuled by the Orcs.

I adore this series so was excited to get stuck into my latest fix, this newest delicious orc tale is M/M/F and focuses on the Grisk clan specifically Varinn and Thrain who both have an ongoing and extremely tempestuous relationship with each other. These two have been completely infatuated with each other since boyhood when a pivotal traumatic event forced them both into close proximity. Though they care deeply for each other Varinn has always longed for a mate and child to carry on his scent line something that Thrain is obviously unable to give him.
Kitty is a female who has been taught to use all of her many assets to ensure her own survival. When events place her directly in Thrain’s path and also being vulnerable after her long-term protector threw her away like yesterday's rubbish Kitty now finds herself in a perilous situation. Abandoned and pregnant with an Orcling on the way she does the only thing she can and sets off to Orc Mountain encountering Varinn along the way. The circumstances behind Kitty’s situation and Thrain’s thoughtless behaviour setting the course for all that is to come.
This one initially had a lot of angst we are also dealing with an addiction as Thrain has severe issues with the drink and had done for many years. Varinn’s first impressions of Kitty or Katherine as he calls her are harsh he thinks her a certain type of female and he isn’t shy about letting her know he thinks this either. What begins as one thing though swiftly morphs into something deeper and Kitty finds herself wanting this all to be real wanting both Orcs for her mates and protectors. But it’s certainly not plain sailing Thrain has some serious demons and Varinn can be closed off and overly harsh and has a deep need for control.
This one was just as hot as its predecessor's lots with copious amounts of fluids and sexy times as usual this was incredibly explicit and that is definitely one of my favourite things regarding this series. I definitely appreciated that Kitty wasn’t your typical heroine she was way more worldly and experienced due to her profession and life experiences but she was also vulnerable and eager to please her prior life and the men in it have been far from kind, but once Varinn got over himself and realised just what a treasure he had acquired in her it did become a whole lot easier.
This also had a heavy praise and control kink and the spice was through the roof these three were seriously filthy together but also incredibly sweet as well. I enjoyed this a lot and as usual, the writing was excellent. The world-building was again good and I also loved catching up with all of the usual recurring faces that reside at Orc Mountain this was another definite winner for me I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Beauty and the Orcs.

This is M/M fantasy romance with some highly erotic scenes it’s also deeply emotional and this author does have an uncanny ability to successfully incorporate the two you get all the spice you could ever desire but combined with an intense emotional connection as well. This is actually a prequel to the larger series so technically can be read as a stand-alone but to fully appreciate this it does help to have read the rest of the series as it introduces these two particular Orcs making you want to learn their back story and having this prior knowledge added a whole new layer and flavour to this as a whole.
So this is of novella length but the books in this series do tend to be quite lengthy so this is more of a mini-novel and very substantial for a novella and it’s all narrated from Kesst’s POV. Here Kesst Is filled with self-loathing which he conceals behind a polished and practised smile. The guilt is eating away at him he’s constantly ashamed and thinks he’s only good for the one thing and that it defines him he doesn’t feel he deserves better and doesn’t realise that he is even a victim.
He Hides behind these flirtations with a flippant dismissive sometimes cruel wit to mask the stain he feels daily. The bitterness is huge but he also uses these talents to manipulate and ingrain whilst pasting an uncaring smile on his face so the other orcs don’t know how he really feels. It’s Kesst’s only form of power and he does use this. The occasional enjoyment he receives from these liaisons is another cause of Self-flagellation that contributes to this whole negative mindset he’s in.
He’s the pretty insignificant plaything the toy without a serious thought In his head and he has embraced and embodied this outward facade, this, in turn, has helped him survive. But underneath he’s a mass of swirling toxic emotions and rather than the simple creature he portrays Kesst is actually extremely complex.
The new healer Efterar with all of his strange ways and complete lack of self-preservation instantly manages to pierce through all of this armour a fact that instantly puts Kesst on the defensive and results in him cruelly lashing out and when Kesst is then hurt and these two are forced into close proximity together a dangerous attraction starts to simmer between the promiscuous ash-Kai and the innocent healer placing both of there lives in direct danger from outside forces.
Eft is exactly how I’d imagined him to be and I especially adored getting his back story. These two couldn’t be more opposite but they also complement each other so perfectly. I was also incredibly interested regarding the set-up in Orc mountain it just shows how far they’ve all now come under different leadership and the contrast was vast.
I enjoyed this a lot the heat is as usual high but it also provided all of the feels. I’ve wanted Eft and Kesst’s story for a while and I definitely wasn’t disappointed this was another fabulous addition to one of my favourite series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Sins of the Orc
Every time I read a book in this series I swear it’s my whole new favourite well until the next one comes out that is and I’m then in lo[image] [image]
Every time I read a book in this series I swear it’s my whole new favourite well until the next one comes out that is and I’m then in love all over again. I’ve been looking forward to this one so much all of the glimpses we’ve been given previously of Baldr of Clan Grisk and his fearsome bad-tempered orc mate Drafli of Clan Skai only whetting my appetite. I had no idea how a third variant could even be introduced into their tight-knit bond without spoiling their entire dynamic. I mean here we have an already established pair who are completely in love and along comes a third person to totally shake things up. Factor in the fact that Drafli isn’t the friendliest Orc (understatement) hates females and definitely doesn’t want to share his mate with anyone well buckle in folks cos this gets bumpy.
Alma works as a housekeeper for Mr Pembroke when her employer tries to coerce her into offering him her favours to retain her job she vehemently turns him down fleeing into the night his men hot in pursuit of her and in her panic to escape Alma falls into the river unable to swim she is convinced her end is upon her that is until she is plucked from the water by Baldr who then suggests taking her to Orc mountain to recuperate from her injuries.
But Baldr also manages to unintentionally scent bond Alma causing a massive dilemma and potential problem as he is already happily mated to Drafli who in turn has no desire to share his Pureheart with Alma he also makes no secret of the fact that he hates her presence with a vengeance and Drafli isn’t at all shy about letting his feelings towards the hateful human be known.
Baldr vows to stay away and refuses to dishonour his oaths to his mate but Drafli comes to the realisation that something needs to be done whatever his own wishes to the contrary and approaches Alma with a bargain a compromise one that she finds herself accepting. in turn, promising to honour and obey the scary Skai Orc in all things now all Alma has to do is convince Baldr with Drafli’s encouragement that this course of action is best for all.
So this definitely started out with a whole lot of vehement hatred and disgust from a certain Orc. He really seems to hate poor Alma with a passion. Baldr is actually quite the sweetie but initially, it was very much a case of Alma being stuck on the outside looking in feeling very much separate and envious of the close bond and history these two Orcs share together.
I felt for her so much and my heart hurt every time she felt slighted or shamed or envious. At the onset of this Alma very much feels relegated to servant or pet status and I very much felt that she was willing to take the scraps just because she was desperate for the love and affection she lost when her mum had died. She has also discovered a home within the mountain making friends and working as keeper her sweet disposition winning over those she deals with she definitely knows that she could be happy and content here amongst the Orcs.
But it was this sweetness and willingness to please her steadfast hard-working and naturally submissive nature that eventually won Drafli over that makes him finally see Alma for who she is Alma doesn’t demand but is ecstatic over every small step forward. And over the course of this Drafli slowly starts to let her in learning to trust and as this progresses you realise he has real legitimate reasons for the way he is.
This definitely wasn’t all plain sailing there are lots of stumbling blocks as this team of two gradually morphs into a triad of three. And when they did finally click it was magic and I didn’t feel like Alma was second best. Yes, maybe initially it maybe felt like this was the case but later on definitely not. Drafli was by then just as obsessed with his Bright heart as he was with his Pure-heart. They were both equally his cherished Grisk pets and he very much adored indulging and spoiling them and showing them off to his brothers. Drafli or Golden-tongue as they both affectionately call him definitely evolves so much during the course of this opening up and willing to try and do better and he totally managed to win me over to his side.
I also loved the dynamic here Drafli is the maestro the one driving and directing the action the dominant devious Orc in charge whilst Baldr and Alma are much more submissive. I’d say that Baldr is certainly the most submissive out of the three though and his nature is quite the gentle one. Alma though submissive is still willing to say is straight when she needs to which is something these two Orcs need a middle ground and a voice of wisdom.
This had all the usual debauchery I’ve now come to expect from this series and as a certain Skai Orc stresses there is no shame only honour. You’ll know exactly what to expect from this if you’ve read this series prior there are all the usual bodily fluids exhibitionist behaviour and a total lack of inhibition in fact I think this one might have the slight edge in that regard it was positively red hot in the heat department and chocked full of graphic descriptions that curled my toes in sheer delight.
Totally adored this it kept my attention easily and it was a long read but I was never bored. These three make the cutest family and I’m so glad that Alma found her home in them and that bonus epilogue be still my heart it was fabulous I loved it. I totally recommend this series it’s one of my favourites and each story is just so good. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Maid and the Orcs.

I enjoyed this I’m a sucker for a good sci-fi read and here we get to catch back up with Charlotte the friend from the first book. So when we start this she is still currently being held aboard Vedrock’s docked ship the social deviance. All that she had set in motion in regards to the mother ship the filthy lucre with her newly emerged and erratic omega powers have also equally affected her. Charlotte's eyes are no more and they are now infecting her whole system which is slowly shutting down on her.
When the ship is besieged Charlotte now finds herself in the company of Orcs well one, in particular, their leader Kragga. She finds herself being drawn towards Kragga and he too is experiencing changes, slowly evolving and morphing into an alpha who is definitely more than a match for Charlotte's inner omega.
Kragga had been tasked with rescuing Isolde’s friend and when he finds the unconscious injured woman he does everything he can to nurse her back to health even having her eyes replaced with synthetic ones. As much as he’s drawn to her he is also determined not to allow himself to succumb to the madness of an alpha rutt already having lost friends to this strange new phenomenon infecting everyone but he doesn’t really stand a chance when confronted with the reality of this little human omega. But when he discovers just how involved Char is with all that has occurred however unintentionally he does struggle to reconcile himself and come to terms with all that she has unintentionally wrought.
So this was debauchery at its best being omegaverse there are copious amounts of fluids we also have huge appendages and plenty of deviant behaviour from both Char and Kragga combined. Exhibitionism is rife with this one and there are also two occasions that have slight inclusion from others that includes tentacles and some fun implements.
If I had to describe this I’d say space opera omegaverse with lots of graphic content. It was way sexy but at times also serious. It was also witty and fun and there’s a real tongue in cheek feel at times that I did appreciate. Both Charlotte and Kragga are relatable characters and I did like them. Char definitely loves all the imaginative and lurid things Kragga subjects her to in fact they are very well suited in their mutual kinks. I also appreciated that final chapter a lot as I did think it showed all of the affection and mutual love these two share together without actually vocalising it some things don’t need saying they just are.
This was well written and very imaginative be aware there’s a slight dub-con feel at times to some of the encounters but at the same time, it is all still very consensual. I definitely recommend if this is your jam it was a blast. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Alien Owned (Ravaged #2)

This was really unusual and I liked it a lot here this author takes her Mauleon’s in a new direction with a completely new slant and the concluding result is a fun sci-fi alien abduction omega alpha space opera romance that had lots of humour and snarkiness and plenty of delicious heat. Also my favourite AI wise-cracking sword Smorg makes a repeat appearance which I totally appreciated.
Isolde along with her friend is abducted from Earth finding herself a mark for the far-reaching space organisation Grut. An impulse snatch by her handler her handover comes with some initial red-tape. Her captor is a Mauleon named Gideon who along with Isolde starts to experience strange changes after an unusual purple phenomenon affects them both. Changes that make him rethink his initial decision regarding Isolde’s arranged sale.
Now with Grut wanting their ownership finalised but Gideon refusing to hand her over let the games begin as Grut pulls out all the stops to claim their property. This was filled with a motley group of Orcs and Maelons a snarky sword and an Earth girl who is far more than she initially seems. So much fun and dirty deliciousness resound between these pages. There’s also sweetness a scorching attraction and plenty of emotion.
This was well written and a fresh slant on the whole alpha omega dynamic an enjoyable read that leaves things open for future events the final pages leaving me intrigued for what’s to come in the future. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Warden.

I adore this series so much it manages to incorporate all the erotic filth you could ever wish for but with a solid imaginative story at its centre as well. Very few authors can pull this off successfully and take away all the erotic stuff and you are still left with a fantastic deep tale that manages to include some series subjects as well It’s also well researched and has fabulous world-building.
So even though each book features a different Orc and human coupling I would suggest reading them in order there’s a lot of recurring characters and backstory and this will just add more to the whole experience. This is sole POV it’s Gwyn and Joarr’s story we were introduced to Joarr previously he’s the chief Scout for the Orcs he’s also a Seer and it’s his job to watch from the shadows collecting information. He’s also had a big upheaval recently and is struggling to adjust to his new circumstances Gwyn is part of the solution to this particular problem but she also manages to turn everything on its head and beats him at his own game forcing him to reassess everything.
Gwyn is the daughter of a powerful lord one that has assisted in passing an awful law that is affecting the orcs woman. This ruling humiliates and targets them unfairly and despite the apparent peace treaty still, in place, the humans are still hunting orcs. This goes against everything Gwyn believes in and stands for she is a midwife something she has fought hard to accomplish and she hates what her father is currently a part of.
Gwyn was such a contradiction, on the one hand, she’s brave stubborn and intelligent but then she also struggles so much with doubts and feelings of inadequacy thinking she doesn’t quite measure up. I think some of this was In part due to her betrothed and his casual treatment of the bond they should share but on his part didn’t he has callously paraded other women in front of her for years but then always reels her back in which Gwyn usually succumbs too but no more she’s now had enough and moving Into the shadow or orc mountain will help to accomplish the severing of her past from her future.
Joarr well I did like him but at times his distance and lack of disclosure did annoy me and I was a bit put out when I realised just how Gwyn had originally pinged on his radar and his original interest In her then for him to swiftly change tack when his circumstances changed well I wanted to give him a bloody smack for his sheer callousness. Still when Gwyn and Joaar are on the same page together and when they are having fun they make a great pair and he is very attentive and considerate when he’s not shutting her down. I’m also glad he did eventually grovel and apologise to Gwyn it needed to be done.
Overall this is a brilliant addition to the series be aware this is very erotic with lots of exhibitionist behaviours though there is no sharing. It’s also very imaginative and creative and is such a vivid fantasy romance that isn’t just your usual piece of smutty fiction but is also very deep as well so here your getting the best of both worlds. I definitely recommend this series it is a firm favourite of mine and this author can sure spin a yarn always keeping me entertained with my eyes glued till the very last page. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The midwife and the Orc.

Genre-wise this series is a fantasy romance, Orcs and humans occupy the same world adversaries for many years. The Orcs have finally banded together under one leader and they have made a home in Orc mountain. This also has a historical vibe as the humans follow a peerage system hierarchy So lords, ladies and peasants.
So again this sure hit the spot for me, I love this series every dirty decadent word of it and this was as filthy as I was expecting it to be. Simon the Skai enforcer greatly intrigues me so I was ever so excited to start this one. I was also anticipating getting up close with this particular clan of orcs learning more about there practices and customs the Skei have such a reputation for harshness and brutality when compared against the other clans in the mountain.
So our Duchess here is Maria she is in a very unhappy marriage she’s married to Duke Warmisham head of the council and ruler in Preia. The final straw for Maria is when the Duke repurposes her personal inheritance to fund and further his own agenda against the Orcs, Money Maria was going to use to escape him so instead she comes up with an alternative plan one that will destroy her husband's reputation and standing in the community, genius really hit him where It hurts. This vengeance takes her right to Orc mountain’s doors and once here she strikes a deal with Simon if he will agree to her terms.
So this one had a darker flavour than past reads mostly because of the Skai’s ways and How immovable Simon could be with his goals and Intensions especially regarding Maria and her part in his life. There’s a whole lot of Exhibitionism and plenty of voyeurism the Skai are very sexually liberated and uninhibited when it comes to being intimate, much more so than the other clans. They take great pride in displaying and showing off their mates publicly something Maria initially struggles with. She feels great shame and initially fear over these practices while Simon sees it as something very different.
Simon is quite a stubborn Orc and likes to be obeyed he also has a bit of a temper. He’s grumbly and grouchy and likes to scowl, He’s crude and forthright but at the same time can be kind and unexpectedly sweet. He’s rough around the edges and though he preserves his clan's traditions and demands Maria respect them teaching her to be Skai he also recognises that going forward the Skai need to evolve and rather than using brute force its words and examples that are going to change things for the better including attracting new mates for his brothers.
I enjoyed this one a whole lot I adored how much Maria grew as an individual throughout this and I was definitely cheering her on when she took back her control and faced off against her husband. She finally realised her own self-worth and embraced her new life completely. She was a totally different individual by the end of this unrecognisable from the timid fear-filled broken girl who escaped her husband's clutches. Finally Releasing herself from human society’s conventions and expectations and embracing Simons way eventually liberates her. Simons methods may have been unconventional but he did accomplish his goals managing to set Maria free both emotionally and physically.
So this series in my opinion does need to be read in order each book does focus on a separate couple but to get the backstory you do need to start at the beginning. Be aware this is extremely explicit and incredibly graphic but it’s not at the expense of the story itself. This is one of those rare reads which offers all the smut you could want but it’s also combined with some fantastic world-building and a fully developed story. Oh, I do so love me an Orc and this author does them so well Simon definitely didn’t disappoint and Maria was definitely the perfect mate for him, loved it.

This was a quick novella type read and though the writing was fine it was pretty undeveloped. Sherrine is a nun under a sadistic mother superiors rule and after intervening in a new novices punishment she finds herself traded to the Orcs as a bride and breeder for a warrior. The warrior Narag is a gentle sort who treats her kindly, they fall for each other very quickly.
My issue was how undeveloped this was Sherrine was rather immature and didn’t think her actions through. We learn nothing about the Orcs themselves or even much about Narag beyond the superficial and there’s no world building at all or even any getting to know you before the L word is bandied about. There is no deeper connection on any level. The sex itself was hot but totally unrealistic as in she was a pious nun and now she’s instantly some sort of bloody siren into all sorts with no limits this is just how she is now, nope I can’t see it myself.
I know it’s a novella but I don’t believe you have to compromise on the characters and storytelling just because of the short length I’ve read some pretty good well-developed ones. If you want a short hot read then this has that in spades if you're after a deeper story not so much.

This one was so unusual it's a reverse harem set in a fantasy world with some extremely dark themes. I don't think I've actually read a reverse harem quite like it before its definitely one of a kind. I did take me a while to get into it as the world-building here was quite complex but once I did I couldn't put it down it was that engrossing.
Calliope is stuck in some sort of alternate world since she died back on earth. She's been through a lot and every time she dies here she just pops straight back up only for the cycle to repeat. Each life and death is filled with such pain and she carries both the physical and emotional with each new resurrection. The dark stuff shes suffered is a past thing rather than now but it's still hard-hitting to read.
The dominant species here are a tall orc-like race of beings and Calliope is discovered by The Tohtahk Kor warlord and master of the Horde he's convinced she's a sort of mythical powerful figure and his future pasha, a fated mate, Kor is the first of her new mates there being two more fated for her all fulfilling a different role she needs them for.
This world is brutal and barbaric the horde is a nomad tribe where might wins over all else. it's all very historical with a lack of technology and a massive historical vibe, oh and just a heads up they do keep slaves. It is an integral part of the story though as our heroine has first-hand experience of this so its something she struggles with massively as I said earlier its a brutal existence.
Her other mates are introduced gradually and its all very slow burn with this concentrating more on the story and the incredibly rich backdrop than the actual romance itself. Its told completely from Calliope POV and this story is mainly about her and her struggles and strifes in this new land shes landed in.
Some of the language used when she's in her head though I found to be very slangy and that's one of my few niggles here it contrasts greatly with the more formal way everyone else seems to speak around her and did throw me off somewhat. I also would have liked to know more about Calliope's men as well I don't think we quite got to know them completely especially Kor I felt like he was the weak link and she gave him a harder time than she did Ruune and Vorch, I also thought Vorch was introduced a little too late in the narrative I would have preferred if she met him earlier.
Despite me having some nitpicks this was so incredibly imaginative with fantastic world-building I especially loved the inclusion of Sekhmet and the bond she forged with the Mahzri a sentient species on this planet, Her bond with big-mama was so special and such a unique touch and totally added so much here.
Can totally recommend this if you're looking for something a bit different it does deal with some dark issues but this really was fantastic and ever so unique I totally recommend it.

This one is the third book in a series which is fast becoming a real guilty pleasure of mine.I just love these books so much every thrilling naughty and filthy word pulls me in effortlessly and I think this one was my favourite to date. This one centre's on Rosa and John, John-Ka we were introduced to previously and Rosa is the Library assistant and mistress to Lord Kaspar, she’s an orphan who longs to better herself through education and books. Lord Kaspar holds the key to all this and tasks Rosa with finding new information to stir-up trouble for the Orcs essentially starting another war and disrupting the current peace treaty.
John and Rosa meet when he attends the library to read and research information for his people and Rosa decides to try and use this opportunity too further her own agenda. So John did surprise me here I think I was expecting him to be more easy-going and all with what I had observed previously with him but he actually wasn’t very nice to Rosa in the beginning. He was quite rude, judgemental, mocking and at least initially rather cold acting, like she was in some way beneath him, blaming her even for the fact that he had succumbed to her charms, in turn, endangering herself foolishly in his eyes. He acts like he’s doing her a favour and he constantly belittles and humiliates her and I actually felt rather bad for the poor girl, despite appearances to the contrary Rosa lacks confidence and Johns criticisms ring closer to home than he could ever imagine his disapproving glances striking her deep. I mean I know technically she has an agenda but he doesn’t actually know that and Rosa herself is basically a pawn for powerful men, she has learned that to survive she has to comply and provide what men want and expect from her It’s basic self-preservation on her part.
John, I found to be quite the dominant take control kind of Orc despite his outward scholarly persona. He’s also super blunt which can come across as a tad harsh and also controlling there’s nothing this Orc likes better than proud public displays where he gets to show off his pet. John definitely grew on me and he is so much more complex than I could have imagined, he’s not used to being out of control and as such reacts accordingly lashing out at Rosa at least initially.
When Rosa and John do start to find a middle ground I adored there connection she is his pampered pet and he in turn, her reprobate lord. Pet and foolish then start to take on a whole new meaning with these two words now a term of endearment and affection. John loves to dominate Rosa and she in turn blossoms under this dynamic and their bond was electric and super hot. This one was as usual super-steamy and incredibly filthy the Ka-esh are quite the kinky deviants it was also incredibly in-depth at the same time.
This author had managed to blend the two traits splendidly and her world-building is incredible. She really does deliver every time and the outrageous acts and language here is actually part of its whole appeal, If you’ve read previous books in this series You’ll get what I mean. This can be read as a standalone as each book features a separate couple but you will probably get much more from this reading them in order just for background information and clarity really.
What I also especially appreciated was the inclusion of Tristan and Salvi’s pairing, these two were super cute together and there described encounters just so highly erotic. The imagined visual here blew my mind with its pointed sensuality and sweet filth and I loved them so much especially Tristan he was bloody adorable.
This really is a great series that has so much to offer and is so much more than what it appears on the surface be aware it is incredibly graphic and also includes some M/M (Tristan & Salvi ) a whole lot of descriptive kinkiness and oodles of voyeurism. I highly recommend this and I am always pulled right back into this fascinating world so effortlessly. A massive thumbs up from my camp I loved this. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of The Librarian and the Orc.

This didn’t work for me on any level and I’m so disappointed as I was really looking forward to it. I do have a soft spot for Orcs and the initial premise with this one did sound really different and unique. Unfortunately, this didn’t deliver and forget slow -burn (which I have nothing against) this was actually a no-burn. There was no chemistry between Kari and Bear and I was internally cringing throughout every intimate interaction they had and there really wasn’t that many of them either. To top this off there relationship wasn’t even consummated which I’m a bit bummed about if I’m being honest.
I get that we were dealing with a deep subject here but I picked this one up expecting a romance it’s advertised as a romance. It definitely didn’t feel like one and it’s so far from romance it’s ridiculous. If I had to categorise it well, I’m not sure where I’d put it actually. It’s basically Kari recovering from her own ordeal or PTSD caused by the war between men and these space-Orcs. This trauma to her was caused by human men, not Orcs so I struggled to understand why she was more afraid of the Orcs than of her own species. She also still had human friends despite this trauma so that actually says more about Kari and her own prejudices. And yes, of course, it’s upsetting and triggering, but I didn’t sign up for that. I wouldn’t have picked this up based on that information what I actually expected from this was something far different.
So this takes place a few years after this war and Kari has been living in a refugee camp with her adopted half Orc son Max. Taken out of this camp she gets to choose an Orc to help raise her son and become her mate. So Kari has practically no warm feelings for Bear whatsoever no matter what the poor Orc did. She never looked beyond her own fears or tried to see him as anything other than a scary monster even when his actions towards her were screaming otherwise.
I never felt that she felt any great passion or love for Bear it felt like he was her meal ticket and protection rolled into one and that’s why she was keeping him around that and she was just used to him. I never felt she was interested in him in any way sexually, in fact, the opposite was true she even described her skin as crawling when he was stroking her back trying to comfort her, charming. Even when she later decided she must love him it was just so anti-climatic. Worst declaration of affection I have ever witnessed in a supposed romance novel.
Bear really was such a sweetheart throughout this never intentionally hurting Kari. I mean initially, he was a little heavy-handed mostly just based on ignorance, not any actual malice intended on his part and once he realised the need for gentleness on account of him just being naturally stronger he adjusted his behaviour accordingly. He, In fact, worshipped the ground she walked on and Kari seemed to use this fact to her advantage constantly. She was also a crying narcotic mess and it was starting to grate on me. I went in expecting a hot alien Orc-Human romance and this is not what I got.
On top of that, this was at times difficult to follow and the flow just felt off. Huge chunks of time would pass with just a few sentences which is another pet hate of mine. Also, the conversations themselves were confusing and the world-building here felt non-existent. There were explanations but it was just the bare bones with no inner-filling and there were so many unanswered questions. What happened to Rita? Why did the human doctor suddenly have a personality transplant? I had so many of these little niggles and questions.
I found this monotonous and confusing and it failed to capture my attention nothing important ever seemed to happen except Kari internalising everything. Also, the Orcs became far too human and very swiftly at that. There names and actions and even their sayings: in fact the only thing alien remaining was their appearance. I also didn’t like how they completely deferred to the woman acting like complete doormats and basing every aspect of their lives on their mate's happiness even over there own they were just to nice. I like a dominant male and these Orcs were not that and as much as Bear was a complete poppet he was also a totally whipped one as well. Such a shame that all that hot hunky Orc potential was wasted here I’m actually distraught.
I do feel awful rating this one so low but it just wasn’t for me at all and Kari was just so selfish and self-absorbed I really felt sorry for Bear being stuck with her as a mate. Plenty more have loved this I’m just not one of them, unfortunately.
This was the second book in this series and I found it an enjoyable and imaginative experience. Ella is a young heiress and Natt an Orc the two[image]
This was the second book in this series and I found it an enjoyable and imaginative experience. Ella is a young heiress and Natt an Orc the two are previously acquainted through they haven't laid eyes on each other in 9 years. This story begins the evening of Ella's engagement party to Alfred when she leaves the party upset only to encounter Natt in the process.
Right from the onset here, this was totally filthy with huge dripping orc appendages and plenty of dirty talk. If you have read the previous book which I do suggest you start with you will know exactly what's in store for you, but this one actually manages to crank the heat up to record levels and is in my opinion even raunchier than its predecessor so If you are not into graphic descriptions and explicit language this is probably not going to be your bag me I was panting in pure anticipation with this.
Now, character-wise initially I had an issue with Ella like a big one.I really wanted to give her a slap around the noggins and tell her to wake the hell-up buttercup. She just didn't come across well and she was so gung-ho about fulfilling her father's wishes and becoming a proper lady that she seemed to throw her conscience and morality out the window even going as far as to still be willing to marry a man she knew was far from good and decent. She also despite her previous friendship with Natt seems quite judgmental and selfish with Ella at least initially it's always all about her and what she needs, how shes affected and how she was hurt by Natt's disappearance. not once considering the ramifications of what her Fiancee has actually done and how it has affected Natt beyond the initial superficial.
But as time elapsed and the more she was with Nat playing and observing his customs and interacting with his fellow Orcs at the mountain an almost metamorphosis starts to take place and we see Ella evolving to become something much more. I also think she is using all this lady business as an almost shield to hide and protect herself behind. It is almost like an armour she has donned after she was left behind by the one she thought cared for her, after all as far as she is aware he abandoned her leaving her behind and moving on.
So let's talk Natt, he came across as quite the sweetheart, he was proper crude and incredibly filthy but was also sweet and adorable at the exact same time. He was king of the mixed messages and at times seemed to be almost internally conflicted in regards to his lass. He also had a tragic back story and a destiny to fulfil within his Clan. Also, talk about a curveball I never saw that one approaching until it was practically flattening me and screaming get out the way. My heart hurt so bloody bad for poor Ella, who'd have thought I'd be feeling so awful for her especially considering my initial feelings towards her as well, but she did manage to grow on me as this progressed. Then I just wanted to smack a different noggins for entirely different reasons.
So this is dual POV and I preferred the second half of this much more than the first. Its also quite a lengthy read and has some real meat behind it in more ways than one. Just Because of the tone of the narrative this may seem initially to be all about the heat and the sex but as you read further you realise this has hidden depths and also much greater messages to impart to its reader, hidden within the text, It's actually deeper than you initially imagine. This one gets a thumbs up from me I cant wait to read the next one in this series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Heiress and the Orc (Orc Sworn, #2).
This one was really so much fun it’s a creature romance between an Orc and a human with lots of imagination and magical creatures and one adora[image]
This one was really so much fun it’s a creature romance between an Orc and a human with lots of imagination and magical creatures and one adorably grumpy Orc with a massive protective streak a mile wide. So Sammy expecting a romantic getaway at an out of the way Alaskan mountain cabin gets stranded when her douche boyfriend ditches her for greener pastures. Stupidly leaving the safety of indoors to collect firewood Sammy manages to lose her way in the bleak landscape and falls headlong into one of Orgath’s traps.
Orgath is in the human realm collecting stores for the winter when he comes across the unconscious little human in one of his snares. Not wanting to leave her to perish out in the elements and thinking the company might be nice and she’d make a cute pet he decides to take her back through the portal with him.
Sammy awakens far from home and the guest of this compelling and strangely sexy orc. So this wasn’t perfect but there were enough pluses here that I was able to ignore the few things that did niggle me. My favourite part of this was most definitely Orgath he was just so un-apologetically male and such a dominant and crude character. But he was also incredibly caring and there was nothing he would not do for his human Sammy, he really had it bad. Sammy I also liked she was resilient and a trooper but also as stubborn as a mule. But she most definitely accepted her situation much to fast. it just didn’t seem realistic that she wouldn’t have fought her current predicament in a more aggressive way rather than just rolling over the way she did.
This was also rather instalove which is usually not my thing here it didn’t bother me and seemed to fit well within the story. This was also super sexy and highly physical but also very sweet and romantic at the same time, it was also incredibly amusing. I’m looking forward to reading The Trolls Bride which is next up and is Cavek and Kate’s story. I liked this one a lot.
This was a fascinating fantasy type historical romance which was much more than it originally seemed, a creature romance with a love/hate relat[image]
This was a fascinating fantasy type historical romance which was much more than it originally seemed, a creature romance with a love/hate relationship at its centre. Left by her handsome but uncaring and cruel husband Lord Norr at there manor house with no defences to protect her and her household from marauding orc's Jule is taken hostage in chains by the Orc's captain Grimarr. He wants her as mate not only for himself but to dent the pride of her husband.
This one is definitely aimed at adults and the content here was steamy hot and incredibly detailed with a really descriptive style of narrative when it came to the antics of our two lovers. This was all sorts of kinky fun with plenty of Grimarr's huge monster appendage and all its actions included in graphic and erotic detail throughout, bloody loved it.
Also as I mentioned earlier this had so much more happening and despite the erotic narrative this also had a deeper message to impart all about prejudice both hidden and intentional and acceptance of others despite there appearance and origins. My only complaints with this were sometimes the antics and actions of the individuals involved here infuriated me, so much so that at times I wanted to scream in pure frustration. I also thought this could have benefited with some insights from Grimarr instead of just Jule. This really was an incredibly enjoyable read that had a lot more depth than what I was expecting.
