(Like Romeo, at least in my version.) Don't want to spoil it but it reminds me of a Haiku poem: short, to the point, says what it needs to and leaves without a backward glance. Brava!!

Both of these men made each other better. I like that! Great as a short story (under 100 pages), a longer version wouldn't have been an improvement. RBoth of these men made each other better. I start out trying to figure out the culprit, then get slammed sideways with other things going on. (I don't multitask well.) I am glad that Nico and Mitchell are still involved in Somers & Hazard's lives and Darnell in Dulac's as I like these secondary characters. The death of a previous character was a great touch! I was not thrilled with the surgeon. A snobby asshat imo. I did like the mechanic but the story needed to be longer for the L word to be uttered. (I'dI was not thrilled with the surgeon. Good premise but too vague when strength was needed. I wondered during the story at these two hitting it off. A bit TOO extreme imo....more
Had a problem in the beginning as one of the MCs was an as*hole of the first order, hands down. But the story was funny, so I couldn't just leave it. I, too, hear voices in my pipes sometimes and they say intelligent things. TRUE things. So I had to keep reading. And, no, the ass wasn't the one listening to the pipes. (He's an electrician.) After I got into the story, I franticly began turning pages to see how it ends. I was shocked, surprised, tickled PINK at the ending!!! (I love angst-y stories and this was good!) Ben gets a call in NYC about his folks being dead and to come take care of his three bros in Austin. He meets Travis who's been the boys big brother the past months. Travis is straight, Ben is not. Still.
I tagged this 'light' because it's funny: a 27yo taking care of three young men ages 12-16, stuck in Texas! What isn't 'light' about that??...more
