The review: I very much liked this story even with the underlying abuse. I could see this playing out like a stage production that I really wanted to end on a high note and luckily it did. I understand Levi's reason for quitting but I still don't see it as a sin. (What he did there was a sin but not necessarily his job as a bartender. It was a JOB and I don't see ANY job as sinful.) So the family irked the beejeezus outta me! As for the whole "healing Jaime" topic, YAY! I'm glad there was someone TO heal and help Jaime after all the crap laid at his doorstep as a child. I give this story a 4.5* for the depth of each MC and the wonderful ending....more

They "meet" in a club- Rory stands at Chance's back & gives a major handjob then walks away- and when they meet again, C. figures it out. R is mid-/late-20s while C is nearing 40. Both are overcoming their past experiences, one man in particular (the villain of the story who GETS his in the end- yay!)....more

In my defense, I figured a lot of foreign names to keep track of, their jobs, etc. but it wasn't bad. The main story was about the mc's and the story timeline was moved along by their relationship to one another. Brilliant! (I never knew I thought so linear, so this truly shocked me.) I loved the final ending! So "Law & Order" with the left field thing! I'm already restarting this series again, it was SO GOOD!...more

That's a few Shades of hot, imo. I got volumes 2 & 3 mixed up. (Comes from reading every other review before I read the book.) There is no phone sex and I was REALLY anticipating some good-- or bad-- phone sex! The mental visual of him in thigh high boots was a gr8 early birthday present though. YOWZA!!
**(* I believe I'm reading the Cliffs Notes or Reader's Digest Condensed version. There's no phone sex and just fifty-five pages in length. Piss!

The tension was excellent, the lack of sex between mc's was explained, just an excellent book! Before I read this and in the beginning, I figured there'd be a lot of foreigners with sound-alike names. (There was but it wasn't bad. I could deal, so can you.) I am now So Ready to read more, gee I hope I've got enough $. So, so recommend this series!!!...more

It's about ex-SEAL Ty, fresh outta the Navy via a medical discharge, who visits his mentor Gibby on the Whispering Tree Ranch. Except when he arrives it's to find Gibby just died. Ty has a migraine, passes out and the love affair between he and ranch owner Cass begins. Ty has "issues" (not unrelated to his military PTSD) that Cass helps him with. (Ty's naivety is hard to believe for an ex-military person never mind an ex-SEAL: then it gets less noticeably mentioned by the author.)
The 'mystery' portion of the story brings in new characters (a vet, a sheriff and deputies) that will have their own story told in upcoming books. (Yes, this is a re-read!) I look forward to continuing this series again!...more
