Finally realizing this story was NOT set in the Greek isles (bummer), I finally got into the story about the MCs. However it was too short (that took me three days to read!) to fully engage my emotions. Too superficial.

At times I felt I was reading 'cutesy', but NOT enough to disregard entirely. Yes it was predictable but it's FICTION people! I like confusing mysteries and Mr Ashe does them well. I am glad that Nico and Mitchell are still involved in Somers & Hazard's lives and Darnell in Dulac's as I like these secondary characters. The death of a previous character was a great touch! Recommended....more

We're now past the Volunteers (hmm, maybe) but we are introduced to another (cleaned up) version of the same agenda. Huh. I'm starting to think Somers may indeed be an alcoholic. We were also introduced to frat boy G. Dulac, Somers new partner. A worthwhile read nonetheless-- if only to keep up-to-date with the arc and stay in the loop, character-wise....more
