Nikolas is a warrior leader for the dark elves. Him and his fellow warriors have been shut off from his home land for 100’s of year. Alex Craft is now the lead in the Fae Investigation Bureau. Finding herself investigating an explosion that threatens the Fae world, Alex struggles to find her footing while completely cut off from her allies and friends.
I must admit, I was a bit surprised by the direction Price took with Grave War. Alex spent a large portion of this book away from her gang. I guess my expectations did not even come close to the character growth I have come to expect from Alex and her decision making. In the end, it just didn’t grab me like the other books in this series did. 3.5 stars
I’m sad this run is over. I did really enjoy the ride. I am glad I went along for Alex Craft’s story.

I can say that I truly appreciated McGuire's ability to write some spectacularly haunting and twisted but relateable, and that is what made them so haunting, tales. The stories show a dark side to humanity for both the villains and the people who allow the villains to promulgate their evil deeds.
This is not my normal pick in reading material and not for the light hearted reader. That being said, it was extremely well written, spooky, imaginative and flawlessly original. The collection of stories highlights the shadowy and murky side of humanity. Lets just say, I'd never want Seanan McGuire set on causing world inhalation, by these stories, she could pull it off.

The former United States has fallen victim to foreign governments that have taken back chunks of territories that they previously held.
Rose, a Gunnie for hire, has taken a position protecting a trains cargo. When the train is derailed and most of the crew dead, Rose finds herself in Sally, where Eli Savarov shows up to help her. Rose has no idea what she was protecting but it must have been important and very dangerous because she finds herself facing the Russians.
Eli and Rose pretend to be married as they sift through the players of Sally and who might be behind the murder and theft of the protected item. With magic there is mayhem and with mayhem there is danger all around.
I enjoyed A Longer Fall. Harris provides a twisted tale of deception, sexual chemistry and lots of dining. Guess they needed a lot of fuel to help with their sexual interactions. I did think the ending was abrupt but left me wonder what will happen with Rose next.
