I loved this SO FUCKING much. Before I went into the book, I was a little hesitant, because I hadn't seen the best reviews. But holy shit. This book took my breath away, and I loved Ashton and Jasmine so much. I loved how everything developed between them, everything felt so natural, and they had such a strong connection and so much chemistry. Ashton is so fucking sweet, it's a single father romance (AAAHHH) and he's just such a lovely and caring human. He also has anxiety, which is something I always love to see explored in books. I love Jasmine so much too, she has such a beautiful energy, and I just *dreamy sigh* This was EVERYTHING. It's also completely filled with latinx culture and there's a lot of Spanish, which I think it's always so cool and wonderful when books include another language like that. At first, I actually really liked the conflict because it felt like it made sense for the characters, and they needed to figure some shit out, but then it escalated and phew... that shit hurt, which for a moment I was like WHY. But everything got resolved so well, and I was just so invested. I also related to both Jasmine and Ashton on SO MANY levels. Just read this!...more

This book is a modern-day retelling of Pride and Prejudice with Muslim protagonists - Ayesha and Khalid. I really liked the romance between them, how they were so reluctant at the beginning even though it was clear they were slowly falling for each other. Their relationship was so fun to watch, so sweet and romantic and I really enjoyed it. My main issue was some of the side characters who frustrated me so much and they were getting in the middle of the relationship which is something I hate in books. I also felt like the last 20% of the book had the pacing off a bit and I didn't like the plotlines that were there much cause I wanted Ayesha and Khalid to get their happy ending already. But overall, I really enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend you check it out!...more
