Grace meets Jake when they share a cab to their job site unaware they are soon going to be paired together. Grace is cool to Jake and Jake isn't used to rejection. They end up in a battle of the wills and ratings of readers as the magazine pits them against each other. The story had some humour and angst and the two main characters were both likeable and well written. I am taking off a star because I do hate the trope of the man whore and the almost virginal woman that seems to be the only one who can 'tame' him.
Finally Jake is keeping a secret from Grace and when she finds out it really puts their new relationship to the test. We knew Jake would do the right thing but sadly Grace is not sure of that. Add in Jake's amazing family and Grace's not so amazing family and you have a book that doesn't leave your bored but wanting instead to see what happens to the other characters....more

The characters are all likeable, the angst is not too over the top, there is humour and while some cliches or tropes are present they are all the ones I usually like or can tolerate!

SincIn this charming romance, a former groupie who has fucked an entire band and their bus driver one night is trying to find out who knocked her up. Since none of the maybe daddies want her, her only hope now is one of the band members returned from war, disabled brother. He of course, ends up finding her charming and considers her baby a gift. After their first time together, complete with her sighing 'I thought your brother was good in bed' the two brothers joke about it - cause sharing a pregnant groupie is so cool.
We get to wade through more chapters of literal crap focusing on Lindsey and Owen screwing most of the time, as she valiantly tries to make him feel better after he was dumped by his fiance. Within a month he wants to be the father of her baby and is in love with her. Meanwhile she's trying to figure out who out of six guys is her kids dad. Of course it turns out to be the biggest asshole. And then asshole, with little drama is ok with the whole situation and shows up at the birth. Cue cliffhanger as Owen worries about Adam being part of their life forever.
Reading this shit was worse than writing the review believe me. Lindsey is pathetic, like truly pathetic, she contributes nothing to the book besides the great ability to whine and lie. Owen over compensates for losing a limb to the point he's worse than a caricature and no one else basically has much of a personality. The writing also can't elevate any of this material. How this was ever a successful series is beyond me - except it was the 2010's and well..... if you want to suffer from the beginning... luckily I skipped to the end and got to avoid most of this mess....more

ClairIf your idea of romance is to spend most of a novel reading about a guy drinking and fucking almost every girl he comes across you’ll love this! Claire -the other half of this pathetic excuse for a so-called second chance romance, when she finally shows up decades later - has of course been celibate for almost twenty years (can’t have her fucking around!)is pathetically complacent about dealing with this asshole ‘s temper tantrums. Oh and when he knocks someone else up she of course ends up looking after the kid!
All of the characters are unlikeable, the writing is definitely not gripping and I kept hoping Brad the lead would end up dead rather than in a HEA with the increasingly pathetic Claire and teenage son. It would have put all of us out of our misery....more

The writing was ok and the plot had potential but the execution was lacking something. Mia and Reggie dance around each other. Reggie with his heart on his sleeve and his dick always in someone else and Mia acting like she has no heart and also screwing around. I honestly couldn't really see why Reggie loved Mia so much and why Mia was so cold to him. Well until he screwed around with her sister. And well then - I just couldn't unread that and couldn't care less whether they got together or not. And quite frankly I was kind of bored. ...more

I read this first but the TFootnote to self - stop reading this author's books because I am so negative and the woman is just trying to make a living!
I read this first but the Trey book was so awful I had to save my energy to riff on it. This one is as bad if not worse. Scene after scene of screwing other women just screams romance doesn't it? Seems to be this author's specialty too so far - can you tell I am sick of it - page after page of MMC fucking OW but nothing of the MFC you know doing the same, screwing horny roadies etc.. - can I say again this hypocritical shit pisses me off!
And Leila is - well let me list her accomplishments - continues to take back her cheating ex Matt - is insecure in her own talents even though apparently she had rah-rah supportive parents -tries to appear confident and tough but just comes across as pathetic - eg cake eating scene- cringe - Can I yell it to the folks in the back how pathetic this so-called tough girl heroine is - lord I had second hand embarrassment reading this crap - walks in on him screwing two girls and still can't say no -
and Jake
- admits he is a serial flirt since the age of 14, thinks with his cock and is promiscuous - of course says all women but Leila are skanks and what not - screws other girls but of course is thinking of her - fucks around after meeting her and thinking she's special cause what's a hot rock star to do - its not his fault he can't not be a ho -did you figure out the whole book is about how he can't stop fucking other women even though Leila is special? Isn't that romantic?
Written like its about HS students and the writing is at about the same level - god this was so bad I kept saying I needed to stop but wanted to see if it would get better - and it never did- I read a second book just to confirm it wasn't just me and this one book - it wasn't.

The ML is a non-apologetic manwhore who finds his original love is a stripper just like him. They proceed to back-forth for awhile but eventually fall back into having sex and I am guessing love. I kind of stopped there before that. Found it was getting repetitive, there wasn't too much plot and too much sex. But if you are looking for a fun sexed up read it might be the book for you. ...more

Emma often comes across as a cold fish *well Cassidy too * so it was nice to see another side of her via Cassidy and her twin Daisy. Cassidy is a likeable guy, if at times clueless. The one annoying part of the book is how the two of never discussed their almost wedding for so many years.
Recap - Cassidy and Emma were engaged to be married in college. The marriage never happened - she told him she didn't want to marry him and he never showed up at the church. Cue almost a decade of the two of them never speaking of this until Cassidy ends up working for the same magazine Emma does, and temporarily becomes her boss. He has her writing an article interviewing her exes and oh somehow she ends up living next door to him. Over the years they have been involved, sometimes seriously, with other people. but deep down still love each other. ...more

I rI am a big fan of Pam but realize her books are not for everyone. They can be very dark. That being said, I have loved some and loved others less. I really liked this one and it took awhile to finish out Cole's story from his introduction way back in One is a Promise. I have always liked that Pam doesn't follow the trope that was ongoing for so long, of the inexperienced female and the sexually promiscuous male just looking for the good girl. Her character's sexual lifestyle and preferences are in tune with the character's personality no matter their gender. And the characters, when they find their true love are always obsessive - again something I love as a reader, but not all others do.
Spoiler below:
I have always felt for Cole. I read One is a Promise and was pissed it took three books to get it sorted out and Cole lost. Not that I am disagreeing that the right choice was made, but still there is a reason a lot of us romance readers loathe love triangles. This was one perfect example of why.
That being said I loved this book. I know others won't love that Cole is the victim of torture, sexual abuse and mind games; but he works in international espionage and I thought the set up was almost perfect. It's not pretty or a field concerned with fairness, these people are ruthless. I thought the entire plot overall was maybe not the strongest, but good enough to make me believe that what happened to him and who it was with - would change his life and his outlook dramatically. Cole is a man tending towards the obsessive even when its not to his benefit and this book totally captured that.
Danni and Cole may have loved each other from the moment she climbed onto his motorbike, but by the end of this book I truly believed the overly made-up, multi-coloured hair, tattooed to the hilt and faking a Russian accent much younger woman Lydia was his true partner. The story even made me happy for Trace and Danni. Even though I know literally they did nothing wrong - I was still bitter.
The whole series is over the top and I still loved all of it! Thanks Pam!...more

I found Mia to be kind of blah and honestly not as tough as she's made out to be. Her staying engaged to her cheating fiancee Ben and then kind of blithely not caring that she's consonantly running into some woman Reed has screwed - well it just felt forced and rather dull. Reed also annoyed me which is never a good thing.
The complete lack of drama also left me feeling like this was a slog to get through. It all centred around her dad and her devious ex with a revelation for Reed at the end. And of course Reed the local Lothario was anything but in this story (eyeroll). He's also wanted Mia and was just waiting out his time. Yawn. I skimmed to the end to see if I was missing anything. I wasn't....more
