But damn, did I do some ugly crying there at the start.
The writing is very simplistic, but the story is intriguing, engaging, and captivating. You'll fall in love with the characters, while all the while waiting for the other shoe to drop. Ms. Roberts takes not just the characters, but the readers, on one heck of a journey, and I'm so glad I stuck it out....more

She's such a wonderfully consistent author, which I cannot comprehend because her books are all so different - freaking ridiculous and funny and over the top, in the best way.
Enchanting Exposition is just so damn good. It's everything you, I, love about this series, but on an even deeper level. I laughed out loud, I was surprised, and I even cried a little- like WTH Alice!
Usually when I start one of Alice's books I finish it in a day, sometimes a day and a half. But with this one I kind of dragged it out over a week, reading just a few chapters each evening. I didn't want it to be over. I don't know why I felt like that- I don't know if this is the last book in the series or not, but I guess I didn't/don't want to say goodbye to Miles and Havoc and their motley crew. If ever there was a group you'd want at your back and at your side, it would be these goofballs!

It was so great to be back with Sam and Lane! I really enjoyed The Anonymous Hookup so I was very excited when Jax shared that we would be getting more of these two. The Unforgettable Hookup is a retelling of TAH from Sam's point of view and I loved getting his take on things and his views and feelings on their relationship. He was a smitten kitten as they say!

The Other Lola is an engaging and endearing read. I enjoyed Missing Clarissa, the first book where we're introduced to Cam and Blair, but I liked this book just a little more. Anna very much reminded me of myself, in certain respects- I related to her a lot. At first I thought Owen was going to be a hard ass, but he was actually far from it. He's so sweet and caring, and very considerate. Yes, he wanted to find his aunt's treasures, but not at Anna's expense- he definitely took her feelings into consideration and I really appreciated that.
The Summer Escape was an engaging and heartfelt story. And it was fun, too, thanks in part to Wendy! I loved the relationship between Anna and her, but that is one thing I couldn't relate to- if only my sister and I were that close. Even though they had their moments, you could feel the love they had for each other.
I enjoyed the mystery/suspense aspect of the story- who doesn't like a good heist! I liked how everything played out in the end, and I loved the epilogue! All in all a very nice addition to the Sunset Cover series, and one that can be read as a standalone for sure....more

I really loved this story. It honestly did have me on the edge of my seat, especially towards the end. It had me questioning everything I thought I knew about what was happening and where the story was going. One thing I did know for sure, though- was like Ariel, I needed to know what really happened to Drew. And let me tell you, the journey to find out was one heck of a ride.

Delightful. This was a delightful listen, with a couple of caveats: 1. Julia's stepsister was not very nice at all and my feelings for her did not change at the end, except for maybe a teeny tiny bit. Nah, not even a little. 2. How could Julia be so clueless?!?...more

Emotional and surprising. Another wonderful addition to the Out of Uniform series- I've enjoyed these books a lot! While all the books have had an emotional element to them, I think this one hit me hardest because of the tragedy surrounding the kids and their parents. Mark was a bit of a tough nut for much of the book, but I still like him! I loved Isaiah. I loved how much he loved the kids and wanted to do whatever he could to make sure they were taken care of. The romance was on the slow side, as Mark tried to keep his distance. I really liked how things ended up working out.
PS- it took me until the end of the book to realize we have met Isaiah previously!!!

This was a little intense, but not quite as bad as the spoiler warnings would have lead you to believe. There was definitely a scene towards the end that was hard to read, but for the most part it was a fairly easy read. More heartfelt than anything, considering all that had happened to Ethan. This was an entertaining whodunit that kept me engaged until the end. And kept me guessing until the end. I liked the way the story was told in multiple points of view, but I did get confused a couple of times with the female characters and whose chapter I was reading. Elody was the easiest one to get back on track with, as soon as I read the word babe, I knew it was her.
The mystery played out well, although now that I'm a week or so removed from finishing it I almost can't remember how it ended exactly! I know I did enjoy the story, and was surprised with how it all came together. While I wasn't broken up about the deaths in this book as I have been in others, I did feel empathy for a couple of the ones who ended up dead, but not the others. Some of these characters had no redeeming qualities, and it's easy to image some actual real life "influencers" are just like them, sadly.
I think this book is relevant for the times, but I don't know how well it will age....more

A Tall Dark Trouble was an entertaining, at times challenging, read. It took a bit for me to become fully engaged in the story, but once everything kind of "clicked" into place I was ready to see where this story would take me. It did tend to drag a little in parts, but that could just be because I was anxious for things to come together.
I enjoyed that this story was told in multiple points of view. It helped to see what happened in the past, that lead to what was going on in the present day. The magical aspects of the story were very engaging, I liked seeing how Lela and Delfi each dealt with their gifts. The story was also a little creepy and sad.
Overall this was a compelling read about the power of family.

Sad to see it end! I really enjoyed this trilogy. KJ Charles writes historical mm like no other. She makes me feel like I'm right there in the story with Kit and Will. This story was full of the mystery and intrigue I've come to expect in this series, and we finally get some answers and resolution. Family is also at the forefront, with Kit's awful father being awful. Will and Kit's relationship is solidified- I just love them.

Cried all the tears. It's been a long while since I cried so hard reading a book that I thought I would vomit. Is that weird? Has that happened to anyone else? I loved Robbie and Kelly's book so freaking much. I was so confused at first, and disoriented like one of my friend's described it. But then everything clicked and I couldn't believe what was happening. Gah, I adore this series. I don't know how TJ did it, but this series is everything.
Kirk is just incredible in his narration. I think Kelly's voice is my favorite.

Oh Gordo! Oh these werewolves, these GD werewolves! Man did my heart break and ache for Gordo. I felt so sad for him when he was left behind. He didn't understand it and didn't know why Thomas and Mark would do that to him. But leave it to TJ to weave a story that in the end made it all make sense. I swear, don't listen to this when you're out walking- it's hard to cry and breathe at the same time.

I first came across Bittersweet in the Hollow on the BookishFirst website and it had my attention as soon as I read the blurb! As someone who claims WV as my second home I'm always interested in books set there. And as someone who loves the paranormal and supernatural, as soon as I saw the Mothman (Moth-Winged Man) referenced I knew I had to check this book out! Sadly I didn't win a copy on BF but I was approved for a digital arc on NG, so yay!
This story was so intriguing and it kept me guessing until the very end. It's spooky and a little creepy, enthralling and completely engaging. There were twists I didn't see coming and times I wasn't sure what would happen next.
I'm quite impressed this is the author's debut and I'm excited to see there's more to come in this world.

This storyLove and Monsters is an entertaining start to a new series by Max Walker. I really love the idea of the crime solving book clubbers, so fun! This story had a good mix of romance and suspense. It did lean just a little heavier to the romance side, as Noah and Jake explored their growing relationship from friends/coworkers to more, which I enjoyed. They are very sweet together, and I loved that Jake was there to support Noah through everything that went on with the stalker.
I liked the way the mystery of the stalker played out. It was an important part of the story, but it wasn't the entire focus and didn't overwhelm the romantic aspect. And it was great how Noah's friends jumped right in to help figure out who it could be, no questions asked! I did wish we had gotten a little more back story on the stalker, though, but that's all I'll say so I don't spoil anything! I can't wait to see what the next book in the series will be about.
I really need to find a book club to join, but I doubt it would be as fun as Reading Under the Rainbow!
