I mean who doesn't like firstly the cover and secondly strong men with guns and an action packed plot, right? So after reading the first few chapters I can say that I really enjoyed the story but then came the freaking questions. I drove me nuts, I mean, I get it, if it's only a few times and on various scenes but to have a person you are talking to reply to you every single time with What happened? No, did that really happen? He did what? He was what? What, what, what? I FREAKING GET IT, OK!!! You tell me once and I'm totally going to understand you. I'm not brain dead or something. And that continued to happen through the whole story. So that was definitely a bummer for me and I admit, there were times where I wanted to give up and just stop reading.

In the end I guess I can also blame my high expectations for the story, since I was really happy to be reading this book. But oh well, it's still a three star read, since not all was that bad.
I liked Cap and Michelle, they were my favourite characters. Yes, I know I'm horrible for not liking the main characters more but what can I say. I loved how Cap has this no bullshit personality and how Michelle just knows what she want and is one super cool chick that doesn't easily freak out. If there is going to be a book about those two, I'm definitely reading it!

Now Terra and Michael were a mess but a beautiful one. Their relationship is now a 'normal' one, since their past and true identity still remains a lie, at least on Terra's side and one that all comes to light, there is going to be a big bum! But for the most part, I find their journey to finding each other real sweet. There are ups and downs but in the end they manage to overcome that and also the epilogue and their new pet, just soooo cute. That added to their story for sure.
All in all, I would say that I liked this story but it could also be better, specially the writing style (question and all that). Also I'm not sure I'm going to be reaging the sequel but who knows, maybe I will, maybe won't. So, if you feel like you like the blurb, then go for it. Read the story and who knows, it might just as well pleasantly surprise you. :)

I tried, I really did but at some point you know you have to stop. I really don't like Callie's character, the way she thinks (or rather the author does) and even Temper and Des couldn't bring me to further read this story. There was some action but it was too short, not detailed enough and, same as the second book, had some potential to be great. Sadly the story lost it's appeal for me and instead of struggle through it, I'd rather just find another book that I'll hopefully enjoy. ...more

I really expected more from this story, since I really liked the first book of this series. What happened to Callie? She went from a great character to this powerless, whiny and weak character. It's like she had to be saved by Des so many times, it's ridiculous. I mean, why do authors do that? Seriously, what's going on in their heads that they think the readers will like such a character, huh? But thank god for Des and Temper, they saved the day! Literally in this case and multiple times at that! About the writing... The plot was barely there. The second part was kinda all right but truth to be told I really felt stupid when reading the story. You get all the answers pretty early on in the story and then you have to read how the story drags out and about until miraculously the characters figure it out. And that is of course at the very end... Like come on, I want a story to grab my intellectual attention. Otherwise I just get bored and have to stuggle to finish the book. And also, the author should've read the previous chapters she wrote and only then proceed with writing more chapters. There were some parts where she repeated what was already been told previously and then just added a sentence. I mean...you for sure can do better than that. Don't add unnecessary things to the story just to make it longer. Sometimes less is definitely better. So to sum it up, this did not reach up to my expectations. The book had potential but the execution wasn't quite there. It just didn't deliver what it should have. Sure, there are some enjoyable parts of the story but for me it just wasn't enought to make me like the story. ...more

Aaaaand that sums up my feelings perfectly. I mean wtf?!!! I skipped the first part, cause it was boring the house! And the second part was all right, till the 70% marker. Then it just went downhill, again. And don't even get me started on the ending. I mean seriously?! What the hell was the author thinking, huh? Totally not cool or acceptable. And it's no secret that I'm not fond of Cadence's character. What a twat. A goddy doer in the worst kind. And totally too trusting. She's just a horrible character that I wanted to kill, preferably by beheading and blowing up. But just when I thought I got my wish when she fell in the volcano, nope, my hope was shattered. If she's in the next Legion of Angels book I'm done! I do have a feeling that she's going to be the word mother in law, that's for sure! Damien can stay, the rest of this book characters', except Pandora and Nero of course, can take a hike straight to hell and stay there indefinitely! Thank you. ...more

I had problems with the timing, like when Cadence finds out that her whole life she has been lied to. She went from crying to immediately sassy and acted like that moment never happened. It was trippy to say the least and it made me feel like I missed something. I did like Damien a lot tho. He was dare I say perfect. Also the plot wasn't so bad, full of action and romance and we also get a scorching scene. So all in all, I liked it but was expecting more. When I saw the blurb I was really intrigued by the plot, since nowadays everything is so focused on social media and we forget more and more that just a couple of years ago we would still write letters and have a more personal connection to each other. I think that the author's approach to tell this story was unique and fresh, since she starts the story by basically showing the reader the letters between these two characters, which I enjoyed reading. But what happened next, and I don't know, if this is this authors debut book, was that the story abruptly changed course. One minute these two characters are writing these letters, having obviously never met in person before and the next they both fell in love with each other. That emotion came, at least to me, completely out of the blue. It went from zero to hundred in a flash. And that's why I think that the author could've spent more time building up the emotions and the story, so that when they did happened they would be believable. The same with the rest of the plot in the sense that the flow of the story could've been more controlled and not cut from one scene to the next. That being said, it's not a bad story and while I did enjoy reading about the characters journey, it's just not that greatly executed. I wished there could've been less day to day showing and more focus on the potential that this story had to show. So all in all, did I love the story? Not really but I would still recommend it to others since they might enjoy it more than me. For me this one was sadly just not my cut of tea. ...more

Because let me tell you, this is already the second book today that I've dropped. And you might think that something is wrong with me but honey, when you read this book you'll definitely agree with me that it's all this authors fault. So let me tell you why I simply couldn't read more than a few chapters of this horrible book. The main reason is the heroine. She thinks of herself the type of person that considers all her options and danger before jumping into a situation but what dowe get when she's actually in danger? Total TSL character with no brain. She sees her saviour beat the guys that wanted to rape her, then she slaps the hero, orders him to call her sister and tell her she's not to blame for her death (which in my opinion she partially is) and on top of that blames and chides him for killing one of those bastards in self defense and doing all the potential victims a favour. I mean, ARE YOU FOR FUCKING REAL???!!!

Oh man, I was really looking forward to this one but sadly yet another disappointing reverse harem novel... I wish to finally find a good one, where there's actually some action going on and the book is not being a YA rated one. So far the reverse harem books that I've read were beyond slow burn romance and with some I even gave up the wait for something to happen. With that being said, if the plot and the characters are awesome, I will read a couple of books in the series even without the hots going on but if the first book doesn't give me much of a feel then I'm just out. And the same happened with this story. The book just didn't grab my attention and the characters were only so-so for me. So that's why I stopped reading at 20% and just skimmed the rest. But if you like the blurb and even the first 10%, then keep on reading. Sadly this one just wasn't my cup of tea.

Wow, I marely made it through two chapters before I quit. I think that's even a record for me. This book was so not what I expected. From the blurb and the great reviews I was really looking forward to reading it but boy oh boy was this a disappintment. The heroine was just so childish and not even strong. And what's with the action in the first chapter, are you for real? Where's the build up? I felt like I was thrown into cold water and was then left to drown. Safe to say this book didn't make any sense to me at all, so I thankfully stopped myself from going deeper into that rabbit hole.

I confess, it's been awhile since I last read this series and I forgot some of what was happening but the more I read the story the more memories came back. So I would definitely recommend to read all of the previous books in this series, just so you don't get lost in what's happening plot wise. And that brings me to the plot of this story. It was all right but I was quite disappointed that nothing really happened with the big picture. The mission Bradach was given by Death, as he is one of her Reapers, was that he finds and I suppose also saves one of Usaeil's aka. the evil queen's prisoners. And that's where the plot let me down big time. Because guess what, nobody gets saved, we get more questions than answers and also half of the plot was wainting on Rhi to save the day, which would be great if she was actually even in the book.
But no, all we get is, at least with what I assume will happen, the premise for the next book. This story felt more like a filler to me and while I enjoyed the romance between Bradach and Maeve, I wished for more. Maeve is a great character and I quite like her, so that's why I give this book a three and a half star rating. So will I be reading the next book, well I honestly don't know. Maybe if it's about Rhi but probably not if it's about someone else....more

So when I saw in the blurb the name Atlantis, the Bermuda Triangle and shapeshifters I knew I wanted to read this book. And sadly I think I had too high hopes, since the first 40% of the story were so not my jam. As in, did the heroine really have nothing better to do than to fling herself at every male she met? I mean honestly, that made me want to stop reading the book a couple of times, since this book is supposedly about mates and so on... To say I disliked the heroine would be a mild understatement. Just her whole personality was awful and she all blamed it on her hormones. That to me screams the usual dimwit heroine that no one likes and roots for, me included. The only redeeming characters were Raif and Ashlyn. I even felt bad for her ex slash her back on boyfriend slash the cheated on boyfriend. I mean, the whole thing is just an emotional mess. Oh, right, did I mention we don't get a good ending? Nope, well now you've been warned. Since this book is so short it felt almost like this is only the half of the story and I hope we get the other half in the second book of this series. Otherwise, what was the point in writing this one?!

And you can only imagine how I feel about this book or more precisely about Sara aka. the human and the non existing plot. This book is a joke and I feel sorry for anyone that wasted their time reading it. Thankfully I stopped at 30% but it still makes me feel irritable for having lost the time I'll never get back. Just what was the author thinking when she wrote this book? Pray you'll never know, because it for sure wasn't anything worth remembering. The only reason I rated it with two stars was because of Pestilence. Him I liked, others not so much, obviously. In fact, you know what, Pestilence should've just killed that annoying human, done us all a favour and not make us suffer instead.

It's been awhile since I've last read a PNR book, and a good one at that. So when I read the blurb for this one, I thought it would be just what I was looking for. But sadly, nope, no such luck. It all started out fine and I was excited for the story to slowly pick up. And don't get me wrong, I liked the plot but the problem for me were the characters. I mean, I did get some of them and their personalities didn't bother me much, like with Destroy, he's actually one of my favourite characters in this book. The problem that I was having, especially with Carolena's character, was after the 50% mark. Boy oh boy, was she a push over. Seriously, the main reason why I gave up on the entire story was because of her! I just coulnd't stand her weak, goody, whimsy and self-righteous character anymore. Thank God I've got low blood preasure, because she sure did bring it right back up. At least she was good for something! [image]
And let's not forget about Carnage, the man / Gargoyle himself. Yeah, they make a perfect couple. One, who's head is always in the clouds and one, who doesn't know the first thing about good communication - and by that I don't mean that he has some speech problems, what I mean is that maybe, I mean just maybe, he could have said at least something before leaving his 'claimed' woman alone for days. Like, come on! Had it been me, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about your reasons, you'd just be gone from my life, all right!
Now I will admit, there were times where I almost wished Enthrall would get the woman but then again I'm not so mean to bring such unfortune upon the poor pall. I'm sure the future holds something or better said someone better out for him. The same with Destroy. I've got a good feeling about him and his story. So maybe I'll give his book a try but definitely not at the moment. I first need to recover from all this bullshit that went on in this book. And with that, I rest my case! You do what you want with it, I'mma go get me a better PNR story to read.

When I saw the blurb and the book cover I was totally sold on this story. But when I started to reading it, it was just not what I expected it to be. I was not expecting the main character to be so immature. And also the way the story unfolds is just too unrealistic to me. I cannot immagine how a young girl leaves to travel the world with a hot boy (her description), who she only met and not telling her parent or any adult for that matter. The scenes are too jumpy and to me they feel unfinished. Like how for example, this young girl is left to wait for her cousin all alone and not knowing, if he will really show up and then in the next page that is also a new chapter this whole matter is just skipped and not even mentioned. They why bother to write such a scene in the first place? It just makes the reader feel confused and the story slowly becomes more underwhelming. I think had the author connected the scenes more and made the girl more mature I would have loved this story. But sadly due to the issues mentioned above, this is just not my cup of tea.

I really liked the first book but this one, oh boy... What a disappointment, truly! The first 40% or so were all right but then it slowly just went downhill. I felt like nothing really happened and the worst part were the main characters. From the 70% mark till the end I just skimmed the book and was so not impressed by what I read. Alina went back to her immature, at times even bitchy character. Not to mention how weak she was. I honestly don't see what they all saw in her. Like what great leader, what wonderful love interest, what great personality...WHERE WERE THEY?!!! Because I sure as heck didn't see any of them! And to be honest, I kinda understood why Mal turned out they way he did by the end of the story. By they way Alina behaved it's no wonder he would do the crazy things he did. Drinking, fighting and not to mention that lovely scene with such 'lovely' person. Not that I condone that kind of behaviour, not by a long shot. I'm just saying I can understand what drove him to it, that's all. The only two characters that I liked were the Darkling (yes, I still like him and if you don't like that then I don't really care...) and Nikolai. At least they made the whole story a bit more interesting and kept things fresh. Not like the rest of the characters...

Well...I had high hopes for this one, since I've read the reviews and many stated how great this story and the characters are. And for the most part, it's not a bad story, it's just that I wanted more than what I got. I didn't read any other books by this author and that's why I'm not sure if this is a standalone book or a spin off series from previous books. It felt like the other couples in this book had their own stories and I wondered what they were. For me to fully enjoy a book I need to know the background of the plot and the characters and I need the plot to feel clean and not hinting of other plots that are unknown to me. So that was a shame, otherwise I would've enjoyed this book better. That being said, I still liked the characters, especially the main couple. They were both strong individuals that at the same time had their own uncertanties and I'm glad they overcame them together. They had almost like a love-hate relationship at the beginning and it was quite fun to see them sort out their feelings in the middle of catching a deranged serial killer (or killers). I did wish they would've gotten together a bit earlier in the book and not only at the half mark of the book, but oh well... As for the ending, I don't know. I kinda liked it and most of the questions were answered but the main one is still out there. What's the real identity of the mastermind that wants to start a new war and what are they going to do about him? I know there's a second book out and I hope we'll get out answers in that one. Will I be reading it? Meh, I don't know but if I will, then for sure it's not going to happen anytime soon. ...more

And I did like the story until the 60% mark. Then things just became a bit anticlimatic for me. In the beginning the author included great details and I could connect to the characters. But nearing the end of the story I lost that connection, since it felt like the author rushed the ending and the emotional state of the characters. Especially about Spencer near the end of the story. I just missed more details. More thoughts on why and how Ruby started to see the beast in a new light, since she wasn't exactly fan of his and his actions.I think that would've made it more believable to me. Also, I just couldn't really warm up to Ruby's character. At times she really was behaving like a brat and it sure made me dislike her even more. Thankfully the same can't be said about Lincoln. I really liked his character. He was scarred by life and my heart just broke for him. I'm glad he got his happiness, he really deserved it. There was not enough explanation and logical thread to the story and the characters actions. Not to mention the epilogue. It felt like a was reading a biography without a hint of emotion. They were just stated facts, one after another and it left me with an unpleasant feeling. Not what you'd expect from a romantic book ending. I just wished for a smoother ride, that's all.
