In th5 Stars It seems forever that I've been waiting for the new Kimberley Chambers follow up to The Family and I can tell you its been worth the wait. In the first book we met the Bond Family and this time we follow the Bond brothers, Brett and Beau who are both now 16. Beau Bond is about to get married to Jolene. He will do anything to make sure that happens, his love for her is intense and in spite 0f the fact that they are both only 16 he loves her more than anything. Brett Bond is hiding a secret from his family including his brother, who nonetheless are inseparable but there are some secrets that can't be spoken. Kenny Bond will always put family first and do anything for his grandsons and as the past comes back to haunt them, it may be something they will regret. This was brilliant, fast paced and I can honestly say I was holding my breath till the last word. Her writing and storytelling is unique because of the characters she writes. The dialogue is spot on. I've read everyone of KC books and this one is up with the best, her OMG moments are legendry. I can't wait for her next book now....more

It had me laughing out loud at times. Haven’t done that in a long time. I liked the love, hate relationship between the characters too. (view spoiler)[Up to about 70% it was going fine ( 5 Star read) then it went a bit silly, I rolled my eyes a few times, which was a shame. Darla the main character made some very immature decisions which spoiled the last part of the story. But I am an older reader so maybe it’s easier for me to say this. And she was 19 (hide spoiler)] The ending was rushed, I’d liked to have read more about Darla finally being involved in Dylan’s family too. This is a new author for me and I like her style and writing and will probably read the next one in this series.

And for Gianna she's married. But Christian can't stop, he's obsessed and he's totally unprepared.
Love love love. Couldn’t put this down. Who is this author? Danielle Lori I love her characters, the women are quick witted and the men just oozing with alpha testosterone.

This one took me by surprise. Although slightly slow at the beginning it erupted into one of my favourite reads so far this year. Elena is the daughter of a mafia family. Although her father’s favourite she’s dishonored the family and not suitable for marriage yet. So Nico a Don from another family is contracted into marriage with Elena’s sister instead. But he doesn’t want the sister he wants Elena.
I’ve left only the basis of the story but believe me there is so much more. I loved it and didn’t want it to end. It’s slow burning passion was refreshing and incredibly hot. But more than that I felt it had a story, sometimes missing in these types of books. I knew nothing about this author before but I’m definitely going to continue with this series....more

The Carter family are stronger than ever. Grace and Michael have decided to take a back seat and leave the day to day running of their business to their boys Jake and Conner and the new team Danny and Luke. What Grace doesn't expect is DI Leigh Moss an old acquaintance from the past, asking for her help.
Leigh Moss is designated to the case of 3 murdered girls, and maybe a fourth one, now missing. With no DNA left on the bodies and no other clues except they all resided at the infamous Sunnymeade Childrens Home. But what has that got to do with Grace Carter and her business?
Grace feels the need to help and the more she and Leigh delve into these unsolved murders the more twists and turns start to come to the surface. As the past is reignited and enemies reappear.
"You’re not at all what I expected,’ he said with a snarl. ‘I remember how Nathan used to talk about you. He made out you were some sweet, naïve little girl who was scared of her own shadow. But, you’re actually a bit of a bitch really, aren’t you?"
She's done it again... Caz Finlay has continued with Book 5 in the Bad Blood series and has created this fast moving gritty gangster thriller set in Liverpool which focuses on The Carter family and their children. I wasn't sure if at the beginning it was going to become more focused on DI Leigh Moss and her ability to solve the murders and how Grace and her family would fit in, but how wrong was I. Every character worked, especially the introduction of Luke and Danny and they are a great addition to the Carter family.
What makes this stand out is the way its not just a gritty tale of the underworld but it delves into the relationships of the characters along the way and I love that. Insecurities, jealousy and definitely passion. Full of twists, its another great read from this author and I can't wait for book 6

Loved Hound and Keelys story.
Hound wasn’t as alpha as the other men in this series and it made a refreshing change. Normally I’m not bothered about the side plot, kidnapping, drug lords but as the back story got into full swing the last part keep my attention. I’m coming towards the end of the series now. Although there is a new one coming out next week that starts with the younger generation of the club.

I’ve been waiting over seven years for Phil Martin to write another book and this one did not disappoint.
It was thrilling, a real page turner, that was so compelling. I was holding my breath just watching Lawrence’s life fall apart. Each chapter was fast paced, with a great plot, that left me still thinking about the book long after I'd finished it.

Jake, Graces son and Conner and Paul, Michael's sons businesses are good, money coming in. But when someone dares to invade their territory they are ready to find out who.
In front of them were two young lads, who looked no older than eighteen, strapped to chairs with cable ties and gagged with gaffer tape. ‘Fucking hell. It looks like Fifty Shades of Grey in here,’ Paul said with a chuckle.
The Johnson brothers are now out of jail and they are looking for a piece of the Carters action and they will stop at nothing to get it. What happens over the next few weeks will change the Carter family for good.
This book was just fantastic, fast paced, thrilling and kept me totally engrossed. Great one liners that work to bring this book up with the best from this genre. Caz Finlay can write. I love a gritty gangster novel and this is the 3rd book in the series and it just gets better and better. When those secrets come out, it was just explosive. I didn't know whether to close my eyes or laugh, I think I did both.

The characters are great especially Jake, Conner and Paul, their relationship was off the charts.

But 5 Stars Set in Liverpool, Grace has been dreading this day, her ex Nathan Conlon was out, released from prison and wanting to see their son Jake. But Grace wasn't the same timid girl anymore, 12 years before the girl that put up with his controlling, manipulative and abusive way was not going to stand there this time. This was a different Grace wanting to protect her 18 year old son, that looked like him so much. She was not going to let him become like him and get mixed up in his business.
Was there a better way to protect Jake? Or herself? Particularly from Nathan. Was the only way to defeat the monster to become one yourself?
Whilst Nathan had been doing a 12 year stretch she had been building her own empire. Grace has been collecting secrets, secrets she may need to tell, she is now The Boss
Nathan however has one thing on his mind and that's to win his ex wife back. And take everything along the way including their son.
I absolutely loved this. It was gritty, fast paced and I couldn't put it down. Told in a past and present tense it flowed really well. I loved Grace and Nathan was a fantastic character and his possessiveness towards Grace could be terrifying one minute and endearing the next.... a true psychopath. The plot was full of secrets, twists and turns as Grace fights back. Kept my attention from start to finish. This is my first book by Caz Finlay but it won't be my last....more
I remember the very first time I came across a new author called Angela Marsons and her debut Kim Stone novel Silent Scream
I knew she was one classy writer and here we are 10 books in and shes still writing these outstanding thrillers.
Dead Memories
Somebody hates hates Kim Stone with a vengeance. This person wants to cause as much psychological pain by re-enacting traumatic incidents from Kim's childhood.
How do they know these things? Who hates her that much to do this. As Kim and her team try to put these pieces together to find this person it may all be too much for her to continue on the case because as strong and focus as she is each new traumatic find is resulting in her having to disclose her past to her team so they can catch this killer.
What I loved about this book is the way she brought all her old enemies back, each one with an axe to grind.
Thrilling and another page turner ...Its a winner from me....more
Tommy Boyle is a kid thats had it hard. Brought up in a care home for most of his teenage years, he has dreams of becoming a boxer. A chance encounter with a boy called Danny will change his life forever.
Life in a children’s home ain’t no bed of roses let me tell you, but thankfully I managed to settle in fairly quickly. The staff were OK, so were most of the lads, and I bonded with three in particular. Benny, Dumbo and Smiffy
He starts a friendship with a girl called Scratch, herself being let down by her family.
The Darlings love Tommy like their own and now he’s part of their family. Unfortunately for Tommy being part of this family will have consequences. Scratch alias Kim has a new life now. Career, boyfriend and family. Meeting up again with Tommy could have a different type consequences.

My thoughts The story is told mainly from Tommy's perspective. I loved Tommy, his vulnerability at times hits you hard. Set in the nostalgic 70s and 80s and full of colourful younger characters its another outstanding hard hitting book. She is the Queen of gritty London thrillers and this one has still got me thinking about it a day later. Fans of Kimberley Chambers books will not be disappointed....more

This is the 3rd book in the Byrne Family trilogy and in my opinion the best yet. Nancy Byrne is on the up. a new place for her girls to work and she's looking to take over Alfie Harris's club. She's a women that you wouldn't want to mess with.
And who the fuck are you lot then? I’m the owner, babe! Nancy said then, smiling now that the formal introductions had been made. That was all this piece of shit needed to know. And I’m here to get every one of you skanky pieces of shit out of my club
My thoughts... OMG I absolutely loved this book. I wasn't sure how Nancy and the Bryne family could develop further from the last two books. But Casey Kelleher you exceeded my expectations. The plot, the characters and the writing made this a fantastic gritty thriller.

Okay, Geoffrey, but can you just explain why the other girls left Sadie alone?’ He was already edging away. They left her alone because of her connections to The Card Suits.’ ‘Connections? Suits?’ Dawson queried. He nodded as he turned to leave. ‘Yes, her sister is the Queen of Hearts.’ Dawson frowned as the kid slipped back into the gym hall. What the hell was the Queen of Hearts?

My thoughts .... Everytime Angela Marsons brings out a new book, I know from the first page that I'm going to be gripped. This one is just brilliant. It still has the Kim Stone humour. The plot is thrilling and sinister full of characters that all have secrets. But who has the biggest? Set in a private school with secret societies this titillating dramatic conclusion will leave you speechless.
