I loved this sweet love story between the fae and the wolf shifter. It was also a blast to meet up with some beloved characters once more. This is a huge benefit to your setting being in a fantasy world where people live hundreds of years ...more

Sure, I didn't quite buy Eli's surprise in finding himself attracted to the long time friend of his brother. His thoughts felt a bit disconnected to me but this might very well be a me problem. That being said Parker and Eli were very sweet together, when they were together on page that is.
We also didn't get the final results of Eli's studies and what is going on with the shades. I guess that all this was setting the stage for the series mystery.
Still, it was enough to pique my curiosity. Can't wait to read about James and Sebastian....more

Chan already was such a unique, interesting and lovable character in the Guide to the Recently Departed Series but he shines in his novella. I don't know if people could grasp and appreciate the book if you haven't read any of the books from the original series but I would like to think so.
There were many little things that made this great. The way Death tried so hard to understand Chan and his humanity, how they made each other laugh, the moments when both of them realized that they were making each other happy, the way both of them thought about the other and what would make them happy even if they might not love it (Chans limitations, experiencing being human surrounded by humans etc.). But what I really loved about this book was, in recent times especially, someone finally seemed to get nuance. I loved how Chan (view spoiler)[ talked to Death about how he thought he might be like Dusty at first, not trans exactly but being more Drag than man. But that he later realized that it was ok to be a man who loved feminine things, feminine cloths etc. but still a man. Nowadays people, in their strive for tolerance, seem to lose the colors and tones of grey inbetween and it is frightening. I don't understand why we all can't just recognize that there are more feminine and masculine traits but what you wearing a dress or trousers, make-up or not, having short or long hair doesn't make you a man or a woman. Why is it so wrong to wear a dress and make-up and still be a man/male? It often seems that people are stuck in bubbles not thinking ahead and not applying logic. (hide spoiler)]
Anyways, a really enjoyable read that warms the heart!...more

Really liked Oracles Always Win. Jake is a sweet young man and Gage is not what I expected. It sure will help to have read the other books before for Really liked Oracles Always Win. Jake is a sweet young man and Gage is not what I expected. It sure will help to have read the other books before for reference and cameos. At first I wasn't sure if I would understand the connections myself as some time has passed since I've read the others but I have to say that the links were drawn beautifully so the small hints made you recall what you needed.
What was surprising was that the book was much less gory than I thought it would be. Jake also felt quite feminine to me at times, but maybe it was just the language being used when his mannerisms or sounds he made where described. Sure, males can whimper or whine and maybe it is stereotyping but it depends on the situation for me. I would already give any female a side-eye if she were tucked into a big strong mans side, looking up at him with big doe eyes making whining noises, a male I would question no less. But that's how my brain works.
Otherwise the chemistry between Gage and Jake was unmistakable and how they gravitated to one another was sweet. I loved how Gage didn't forget his duty around Jake but always looked for a workaround. Like when Jake had a vision and passed out and he had to balance making sure he was ok and take care of and safe-keep the drawn prediction.
Paws was just fluffy as always and I just want to cuddly his grumpy cat body and brush his hair ...more

This is probably one of those cases, either you like the story or you don't. I liked it. There just is something so comfortable to just BE, to just KNOW and to just relax into the knowledge of being in love and knowing that it is going to last.
This book felt a bit like a prequel leaving you with the feeling of wanting more. I hope future books will play a bit more with the grey morality of choices and situations and characters....more

I loved it so much. Like the first, OMG, Larkin and Seb are just so adorable! The narration was amazing I had to listen to the whole book in one day.
I loved it so much. Like the first, this one is also character driven. They are both like you thought they would be after reading book 1. You felt everything, Sebs angst of losing Larkin after he got what he came for, Larkins insecurities over his lack of experience and body, their growing feelings for one another... And my god, their intimate encounters left me breathless, especially their first kiss. The descriptions and wording were perfect, making you feel everything, every emotion, every soft touch. There were some points during the story where I got worried where this story would take us as they seemed so settled at one point and still had a third to go, but I needn't have worried. Even though there is 0% action in there as well as 0% drama (which is a plus IMO) it still kept me glued to the page...or the audible app... until the last sentence was spoken. I can't wait for the next one!...more

The story felt rushed at times and I would have loved to explore this strange and dangerous world a little more but alas.
