The song originally came from All Hail King Julien, another TV series by DreamWorks Animation for the Madagascar franchise. The version of the song sung in the series focuses only on the main chorus, leaving out all verses.
In the episode, it is sung by Branch when he beats Creek in a courtcase proving that Creek lied about not only why he was late but why he lacked the Fazzlefruit Fondue. Poppy tells him he shouldn't take joy in the misfortune of others, but he instead sings to brag about just that.
