Quote1 I am Bastet. I fear no being. Quote2
— Bastet src

Bastet is the cat goddess of the Egyptian pantheon.

Bastet is a loyal follower of Atum-Ra, acting on his behalf as a protector of the maat, the cosmic order. As such, she chose Khalid Nassour to become Doctor Fate and protect the world from Anubis, god of the dead, who intended to literally plunge the world into chaos to eliminate modern humanity and recreate it anew.[5]

She appears to Khalid as his pet cat, Puck,[5] and later as Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson)'s pet cat, Dinah.[1]

Powers

  • Godly Physiology: Due to her origin Bastet possesses immeasurable power, with her upper limits being above the comprehension of mortals.
    • Animal Control
      • Possession: Bastet is able to project her consciousness into any cat on Earth, being able to communicate with people as well as control the creature's actions.
    • Animal Empathy
    • Cosmic Awareness: Bastet sees the multiverse as it truly is, which is incomprehensible to any mortal.
    • Immortality: Like all of her Old God brethren Bastet will never age in the conventional manor.
    • Omniscience: Bastet can watch the world through the eyes of any cats.[4]
    • Power Distribution: Bastet granted Catwoman nine lives, giving her the power of resurrection. And through her divine cats — Sobek, Hut, Ankh, Zoser, Aten and Mau — Bastet also granted the power of SHAZAM to her.[4]

Weaknesses

  • Power Loss: Without worshipers, Bastet's power today is much lower than in ancient Egyptian times.[5]
