Notes
- There was an earlier proposed series titled Doctor Fate (Volume 4) written by Steve Gerber in 2007 and starring Kent V. Nelson. This series was never published due to Gerber's health problems, and it was reworked into the mini-series Countdown to Mystery. Despite this, there is still some existing cover art from that series that never made it to publication. Paul Gulacy designed this cover for the original Doctor Fate (Volume 4) #1.
- In an earlier preview of this comic book, the protagonist is named Khalid Nassor.
- The events of this issue was said to have happen in sometime in 2021 and one year before the events of Justice Society of America Vol 4 2, which is a continuity error.
