Hello, Reading Beans,

I have reverted your closure of this discussion. I don't see any grounds for a Speedy Keep as outlined in Wikipedia:Speedy keep#Applicability that fits the current status of the discussion. Of particular note, the nominator hasn't withdrawn the nomination and there is a Delete argument to be considered. Please do not close AFDs prematurely. Thank you. Liz Read! @Liz, I interpreted this as withdrawal but thank you. I was trying to save the community’s time as I don’t see that discussion heading elsewhere but a keep maybe not a SK but definitely a keep. Best, Reading Beans 02:36, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Dropping the stick is something I’ve learnt from my early years and it has been fruitful. People go to AN/I these days over nothing and thank you for stepping in, Timtrent, those two could have had themselves banned over nothing. Best, Reading Beans 08:22, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I try to relax, only speak after thinking. I do not always succeed! When I speak I speak assertively, and with the authority of any editor in good standing (whatever that means). Sometimes, like Don Quixote, I tilt at windmills, but I usually have some hope of altering something about the windmill. When I fail, I try to fail with good grace. Then I leave the field, I try to leave with my honour intact. I've been known to apologise, too.
The dark art is in knowing when a cause is futile. I have recently hung on much too long in the hope of changing the course of a South African soap actress, paid to write articles on her employer(!), for the better. Finally, I have withdrawn.
You might consider when it is time to withdraw from trying to solve the brouhaha between these two passionate but misguided editors, and to let them tire each other out. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:56, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are some editors who almost left the project due to constant badgering from experienced editors (even admins!). I remember encouraging these people then and trust me, if I leave this project someday, they’d definitely represent the continent. You have the mixed fortune of sharing your heritage with nests of scammers and vipers and paid editors. Question for clarification

@Reading Beans Thanks for your contributions to my recent articles, especially on ACB Agbazuere. Most appreciated. I also created this page yesterday Emomotimi Agama using Article Creation Wizard, and in the process, I discovered someone had created the name in draft, but actually hadn't written or developed the article. I subsequently wrote the article from scratch (you can check the article's history to confirm). The article was not credited to me in my "Articles created" dashboard. How can I take credit for this? Is there any way it can be transferred to my dashboard as part of articles created by me? Thanks for any feedback you can give. Cfaso2000 (talk) 16:42, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cfaso2000, thank you for contributing to Wikipedia—a collaborative project. Long story short; no, you can’t take “credit” for expanding the article. Even though the XTools shows that I’ve created 300+ articles, I have infact expanded more than 500 articles. A good example would be Ngwa people and Dahiru Musdapher which I expanded and brought to GA. What we do on Wikipedia are meant to be anonymous (my opinion) and it doesn’t matter who take the “credit” for expanding the human knowledge. I hope this helps.
