Pallotta has written 20 or more alphabet books that are interesting
and factual. many are simple non-fiction nature books like this one.
Interesting facts are presented about freshwater life. For example, I
is for Iceworm, a creature that lives in frozen water. An O is for
Oscars who are fish that live in freshwater aquariums. These fish are
believed to follow people as they walk around the tank.

The book is appropriate for third-fourth graders to read
independently, but other grades could use the book for research
projects or just for interesting information.

The website is www.jerrypallotta.com and has beautiful pictures of all of the author's books in
section on the site. Another section is interactive where a Hangman
game is presented based on facts from some of the books. ( I will send
website in another e-mail)
