Well ... this is an unusual book. It's about a sheriff in Sheridan, Wyoming, in his 40s or 50s, not sure, who finds himself in circumstances which draw him out of the closet, something he never expected to do.

Like all good cowboy novels, however, it's also about aloneness and loneliness. And then fate throws someone in your path. Our cowboy finds himself unexpectedly in synch with and massively attracted to someone else, which sets off a whole lot of change in your life.

That someone is Wyatt, who has been injured and is now retired or on leave from his high stress work as a special agent in the FBI. He moves to Sheridan, temporarily, where his brother is now living, Sheriff Rodie Collins has met Wyatt before and admired the man, but now he's prepared to make Wyatt aware of his feelings.

There's blackmail by a wicked mayor and his assistant, and other twists and turns, but what's powerful in this story is that we crawl into the heart of the steady selfless sheriff and experience what he feels when he meets his match in Wyatt.

I'm pretty sure I was brought to tears a few times - that's how much it touched me!

Narrator Brad King, who is new to me, has a great gravelly voice to portray Rodie, and the wonderful John Solo narrates Wyatt.
