Harrison Vapnek

Harrison Vapnek joined the KALB team in June 2024. Harrison comes to Alexandria as a recent graduate from the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.

In Columbia, Harrison worked at KOMU 8 News as a Sports Anchor, Producer, and Reporter. There, he covered a variety of stories, including the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl celebration, the NCAA Tournament, High School State Championships and Missouri winning the Cotton Bowl. Harrison also spent time at ESPN in Bristol, CT during the summer of 2023, serving as a Production Intern on SportsCenter, First Take, and NFL Live.

Born and raised in South Florida, Harrison was raised in a sports family, playing football and basketball from a young age through high school, and always consistently making it to high school, college, and pro sports events year-round across the state.

When Harrison isn't in the newsroom, he can be found spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, working out, and, of course, watching whatever sport is on.

Harrison is excited to meet everyone in the Central Louisiana community and tell the best local sports stories possible. If you have any story ideas, tips, or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out!
