NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints are releasing veteran safety Marcus Maye, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

The move is not a complete surprise. Maye spent the last two seasons in New Orleans but missed 17 games in the last two seasons. He had two interceptions in 2023.

If the Saints designate Maye as a post June 1st release, they would save north of $7 million. If they don’t , the team would save $1.19 million.

The Saints are doing their annual salary cap shedding to get cap compliant.
