Rachelle is a freelance editor, an author of six books, and voracious reader. If you're looking for her, check the bookstore. In 2016, she married a man with the same name as her fictional hero and they live happily ever after in a fixer-upper by the sea. She's a fan of chai and lemonade (though definitely not together). Reformation-era England piqued my interest because my family has both Catholic and Protestant roots--and never were those tensions more keenly felt than at that volatile time when Protestants wanted to be respected and Catholics felt their religion was threatened.

I probably enjoyed most the research that led me to passionate hearts on both sides of the conflicts: those who were willing to fight for what they believed in even if there were others who believed just as strongly the exact opposite things! I hope I highlight that well in Diamonds. :)(less)

Farewell, 2023! You were good to me.

1. Gratitude changes things.

Specifically, gratitude changes me. In 2021, for the first time ever, I kept a gratitude journal for an entire year.

Although I don’t do it daily now, it’s still an integral part of my prayer journal.

For an entire year I used Erin Condren blank agenda journa

“I pressed my hands into my eyes and breathed deeply, trying to stifle the memories. But they bled through. As if there had always been cracks in me meant for her -- then, when we had finally found each other, her soul somehow was broken in all the right places so that she fit inside me.”
Rachelle Rea Cobb, The Sound of Silver

“That smile I loved fled. 'I went there to surrender you.'

I bent to see her face more clearly. 'Surrender me?'

'To God. I felt His call to give Him all. Of me. My whole heart. And we both know you are my whole heart, so that meant I must give Him you.”
