Born in South Africa, in the heart of Johannesburg, Sian Claven grew up with a vivid imagination. When she wasn't immersing herself in books, she was actively creating her own stories.

At 29 years old, left to her own devices after her sister immigrated, Sian, wrote her first horror book Ensnared and dared to publish it under the guidance of indie authors Toni Cox and Ashleigh Giannaccaro.

Now she has released more than ten books including a thriller and sci-fi fantasy.

In 2019, Sian took up the challenge of publishing 11 books in 11 months.

Sian came second place in the First Annual Indie Awards for Favourite African Author.

Sian's book, Sylvana, the final book in her Butcher series, made the Amazon top 100 best sellers list in several categ

I would probably travel to either Hogwarts or Rivendell.

At Hogwarts I would be a student and hopefully befriend Harry and help him. In Rivendell I would join Aragon as a friend and assist him in the quest.

Basically I want to go on an adventure guys and kick some bad guys booty. (less)

It's a great resource for information - especially the weekly Q&A's that they host where you can question other authors and get their take on things. Aside from that I can only quote one of my favourite South African authors - Never edit while writing your first draft. All first drafts are rubbish. Just write. Also, reviews are for readers, not for writers. You have no business with them. (less)

What am I up to?

This month I've been hard at work to get Homeward Bound and Watched completed, I might run a little into February. I'm also working on the plot for the Milford Manor series. I don't know if I should call it The Haunting of Milford Manor or Just The Milford Manor Trilogy. The first book is called The House that Lived.

I'm really excited for all the words this year! Aside from Watched, Homeward Bound

In the beginning of this book, the author called this old style horror and compared it to Stephen King. I almost put the book down. Nothing against King and that style, it's just not my preference usually. I'd have to be" Read more of this review »

“It didn’t look like a solid hand; it looked like paper, almost transparent in the light. Just as suddenly the hand was pulled back and the window went black.”
Sian B. Claven

“I can’t!” Maggie was now standing on the wall. “Past the boundary wall is a bad place. I’m not allowed in the bad place.”
Sian B. Claven, Ensnared

“Amari swung around in her seat to look back and there was indeed a small girl sitting on the boundary wall. She didn’t seem to be looking at the car that had just passed but up ahead. Amari turned around to see what she was looking at and she saw it, up ahead, the farm house that she could only assume was their new home.”
