At first, police chief Samuel Craddock doesn't take it very seriously. He's known Loretta Singletary all his life--how could she just disappear? But soon he realizes that she's not the only woman in the rural Texas area who's disappeared--and when the other woman is found dead, everyone realizes that something bad might have happened to Loretta. Very few people know that the long-widowed Loretta has just entered the world of internet dating in a small way.
