Sicily’s Corretti Dynasty, Book 2

Actress Taylor Carmichael has a bad reputation. She is trying her hardest to make a better one as she endeavors to make her comeback in her newest film. However, she never counted on being caught with Luca Corretti or the ramifications that will soon follow!

Luca Corretti doesn’t care what people think of him, but the board members are pushing for him to act more responsibly. Luca is drawn to Taylor from his first glimpse of her at the Corretti wedding. It doesn’t hurt that she seems to make him look like a saint. Yet, Luca has his work cut out for him when he garners more than he bargained for because of some of the things he trifled with in the past! Taylor demands reparation and will work the angle to her benefit, but she has to get Luca to agree as well.

An Invitation to Sin was a balancing act that toed the line of garnering too much and sometimes not enough for Luca and Taylor. I didn’t like Luca at first because he captured the playboy essence so well, yet I soon became intrigued by him and rooted for his HEA in the end of An Invitation to Sin. Taylor, like everyone else in the world today, had made mistakes in her past, but she allowed them too much power over her and needed to learn to live again in An Invitation to Sin. Luca was the juxtaposition of Taylor and her careful restraint over her natural inclinations, but she was his as well.

I liked that both Luca and Taylor were on level playing fields in An Invitation to Sin. It was a change from the usual HP where the H has all the experience and the h is playing catch up. I liked the depths of both characters in An Invitation to Sin and the fact that you had to look beyond the surface gloss to see the real person hidden there. The banter that Luca and Taylor shared was amusing at times and helped to move the story along. It also showed how well these two could get along without offending each other in their playfulness.

In the end, I quite enjoyed reading An Invitation to Sin by Sarah Morgan. While it didn’t begin well for me, I found myself getting caught up in Luca and Taylor’s love story. When An Invitation to Sin ended, I found it had made me smile, and so I Joyfully Recommend it!
