This is the follow-up to Sarah, Plain and Tall. Sarah misses Maine, with the sea and the greenery. But now that she is married to Papa, she must write her name in the prairie soil and make it her home.

Jeanette (Ms. Feisty) I would say this second one is more for children than the first. Similar in style and language, of course, but the plot is less engaging. What I like about this one is that she addresses the real hardship of life on the prairie, with drought and fire and people losing everything they had.
