Wow, you guys, this book... This book was fantastic!
It was sold to me as a Rumpelstiltskin retelling, but it's so loosely based on Rumpelstiltskin and so stretched into a 470 page book that it didn't bare much resemblance to the original tale. It kind of bothered me because Rumpelstiltskin is one of my favourite fairy tales and I found loads of opportunities the author missed that could have made the story closer to Rumpelstiltskin, but it was amazing anyhow.

Irina was definitely my favourite character in the book, and I'm so annoyed that(view spoiler)
Miryem was great, too, I loved the Jew rep.(view spoiler)

Something about this book had an addicting quality that made me not want to put it down. I finished it just under a week, and boy, do I want to read Novik's other books now. This lady needs to keep writing, I need more!!
