Haha you are absolutely right Val. Too much nooks and too little time as it is. I read her six of crows. I dragged myself through the first book and couldn't even make it to 10% of the second book. Don't think she is my kind of author.

I'm so glad to see someone else who didn't love this series! I read the first one and it was okay, but I didn't feel compelled to read the next one because it just seemed like the author was going very vanilla and predictable with the direction of the plot. The covers are so beautiful though, haha.

Ugh YES. I could never get myself to read the third book, despite the beautiful hardcover trilogy sitting on my shelf. Sigh. If only Mal had done everyone a favor and died (truly hated him).

This series annoyed the shit out of me. I enjoyed the first book but I didn't like the direction of the second, you're definitely not missing out on anything by not finishing this one. I hated how it ended and I will never read the last book. I really wanted to like this series because I heard such great things but oh well. Now if she'd gone with the anti-hero love interest I would've been so down with that but she went with the boring guy :/

You know what, I actually din't hate Mal and love the Darkin like everyone else for some reason.

Yeah, I read spoilers for the series when I was trying to get myself to read it...I don't mind how it ended, but reading spoilers definitely didn't help my cause or really make me want to push through lol

That sucks for, if no other reason, the fact that those are some GORGEOUSSSS paperbacks.

I felt really "meh" about this series too, which disappointed me because everyone loves it and I did love Six of Crows so much I figured this would be a shoe in awesome series for me. Alas, I was wrong. I did get through them though, congrats on knowing when to DNF, I feel like I should have. Especially since the ending pissed me off soooo badly. >.<

You have a John Wick funko pop!!! It's adorable. 💜 Keanu Reeves as John Wick = hot as fuck.
As for the book, this series wasn't for me either. I only wanted the Darkling.

Hello Woman! I've been thinking about you wanting to read the classics. I want you to consider contemporary classics, they aren't short but they're worth every minute you give up reading smut. I too enjoy a little smut, but my favorite writers are Amy Tan, Anne Tyler, Ann Patchett, John Irving, Stephen King and Dave Eggers. Try "The World According to Garp" or "Bel Canto" or "Joy Luck Club." Such amazing classics. All the best Hilarious Woman! :-)

Exactly how I felt reading Six of Crows. I thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't fall in love with the story or characters like everyone else????
