Buckle in, this book was full of EMOTIONS!!!!

This book was one of the BEST second chance novels I've read this year. Hands down a gem of a book!!!

It doesn't happen often that I read a book that delivers such a PUNCH exactly where it counts. I was HOOKED and I didn't' want to put it down - not one second. It was UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!!!

I need to start way back........ years back, 15 to be exact, when I read NOTHING else than BUFFY Fan Fiction. That's how I got my english vocabulary back in shape. I tried to read Harry Potter but gave up after a chapter or so, there were just too many words I had to look up. But I was on a mission, and when I found out that there was something like fan fiction about my favorite TV couple - Buffy & Spike - I was on cloud 9. From there on out I read nothing else for 2.5 years. Every single day, at home, at work, on the tram - EVERYWHERE. And the quality of the writing was astounding. Those writers wrote novel length stories about whatever couple I shipped. It opened up a world for me that I never knew existed.

Now, back to GHOSTED.

The reason why I mentioned fan fiction is that apparently the author herself was an avid fan fic writer - not a reader, a WRITER!!! And I loved the connection right away. But not only the author, the heroine as well wrote fan fic which made her even more endearing to me.

Kennedy was the most down-to-earth and grounded character I've ever read about. She was the BOMB!!! There were so many scenes of her that made me swoon - just from her actions alone. Her maturity, not only as an adult but also as a teenager was mind blowing. Her support, understanding, wit, emotional maturity was absolutely staggering in its vastness. Kennedy was one of the BEST female leads I've read about in a long time. And not because she kicked-ass - no, because she was one of the most genuine and well-rounded human beings I've had the pleasure to read about.

She was far from perfect, but her character spoke to me in a way that I know we would have been best friends. Kennedy was a sister from another mister (finally had a reason to use this saying). And everything she did, literally everything, was to support and help the love of her life to find his way back to her and their daughter. I was blown away by her.

Kennedy was clearly the highlight of this book, but I don't want to slight Jonathan or the rest of the cast at all. They were fabulous in their own right.

Jonathan was as true as they come. His struggle with fame and failure felt as real and authentic as many in LA must feel and clearly many succumb to the harsh and unreal exceptions and are dragged down into an abyss that's hard to come out again. Jonathan did his best to beat the odds. Fortunately he had more than one reason to change his life. One very sweet and feisty reason. His daughter was the HOOT!! She was as cute as they come. I loved their dynamics, actually the entire supporting cast was perfectly casted, and worked exceptionally well together. The author did a marvelous job, and it's one of the reasons why I loved this books so much.

GHOSTED was a gem of a book.

The chapters were dual POVs which I adore, but the author also added chapters of Kennedy's fan fiction which she wrote when she was a teenager. Those fan ficiton chapters gave a significant sight into their relationship and Jonathan's struggle to become an actor.

This book was filled with raw emotions - disappointment, rejection, helplessness, hope, love, redemption, happiness. GHOSTED was a second chance love-story that will stay with me forever. But most of all, this book was character driven, from a superb supporting cast to the BEST female lead and a lovable and swoony superhero.

I would recommend this book to ANYONE!!!! Truly, I mean it, READ IT!!!
