the story is interesting but the motivation of the crime is weak. i did enjoy a big part of it, although the translation is awful.

Katerina Actually it's not weak it just shows how mentaly disturbed the killer was and how twisted he got the concept of justice in his mind. A weak motive is also a husband kill his wife because she cheated on him instead of just asking for a divorce but still is often use as the reason for murder in crime novels! I don't know in which translation you read it but the greek one wasn't better either so I'll read it again in english!

Margaret When I say weak I mean that I cannot “buy” it. On the contrary passion crimes for cheating do happen a lot no matter how absurd it is.

Katerina The murderer was mentally ill so even though you and me as rational persons wouldn't do something like this he didn't have the logic to let it go! All his failures gathered up to that moment became a ball of rage and because he was crazy focused on the wrong person!
