Re-read this old favorite this weekend. I have a nostalgic fondness for this series. Amelia is one of those people who is *so* obsessed with her own cleverness, but in a really endearing way? It works for some characters, I guess. On any other, I would be annoyed. Really, the mystery in book 1 is super contrived and annoying, but I remember being so charmed by Amelia (and I still am) that I overlook all of that. *shrug* Objectivity out the window with this one.
