Worth the Wait (McKinney/ Walker Brothers, #1)

as much as I love Claudia Connor's previous work, I'm struggling with this. Right now I'm needing low angst and this is so angst filled that I'm having a tough time enjoying it. Instead of hanging on and not giving it a fair shake, I'm taking a break. I will come back to it. --I'm not saying the book is bad, it just not fitting ME right now!

looking forward to your review Tonya. This sounds interesting but I need to know some things about the time they were apart before I'll give it a go!.

So this went from a maybe to a big nope for me!! I can't stand that troupe and the fact that it's been 10 years is just ridiculous. Add that to the fact that he's the one that pushed her away...no thank you!
yeah, it was just too much angst and sadness for me right now. I did not finish it so I won't rate it. I may go back to it at some point if I feel I want to be tortured. lol. I liked the precious books and that ticks me off!
also, all of that angst....I'm not crazy about angsty books, but I've read more than my fair share. I just try to avoid them. This one is just OTT and all the pining and sadness (in the VERY little bit I read ) was just a no go.
I avoid angst at all cost. I can deal with conflict. Conflict in this book would have been them working through their shit maybe having a short separation while he's trying to get his life figured out. Conflict can make a couple stronger while angst destroys. The angst the author created destroyed this book and the couple.
It sad because if you've followed the conversations on London's review the author chimed in and stated that to her the heroine moved on with her life and that the Hero did chase the heroine. Everything I'm finding out about this book tells me differently...

well, I can't say because I didn't read very far. I agree with you on the angst vs conflict. To me, there was enough angst with him taking on the family - it could have made the stronger but it broke them. Just not romantic and the more I read about it, the less I intend to go back to it. I want romance in my romance books, call me crazy lol
