This is a fantastic novel! I was hooked right from the beginning and just loved it. "The Long and Faraway Gone" should be on everyone's to read list!!! The novel is about two separate tragic crimes that take place in Oklahoma in 1986 and how the survivors are still searching for answers in the year 2012. The character development is fantastic! I loved the two main characters, especially Wyatt. I rarely say this about a book but this should be made into a movie! I actually could picture Wyatt being played by Edward Norton!

Read it and spread the word. Lou Berney is an incredibly talented writer, this is an incredible book, and it should be at the top of the NY Times Bestsellers List!

Larry H Agreed!! Great review.

Jennifer Masterson Thanks Larry! :)

Jennifer Masterson Thanks Larry! :)

Carol An enthusiastic review which should bring readers to this tale.

Besides adding it to an offline list, I'm in for the movie if Edward Norton is in it.

Jennifer Masterson Thanks Carol! I hope so! Larry's review is the reason I read this book. I had never heard of this author before.

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ Sounds good, thanks.

Jennifer Masterson I don't think this book got enough attention, Dan. Kirkus gave it a starred review though! I look forward to your thoughts on it. :)

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ The cover looks so familiar, but I can't quite place it. It's probably another book I've seen that used the same font.

Jennifer Masterson I'm not sure Dan. I never heard of Lou Berney until Larry Hoffer reviewed this book.

Ɗẳɳ 2.☊ I haven't either. I see another friend reviewed this a few months back, maybe that's all I'm remembering, who knows.

Thank you, Jen! I hope you are doing well, too. No, unfortunately my prescription is still off and when I read for long periods of time I still get horrible headache. This was an older review that someone commented on and it popped up on the GR Newsfeed. It's all good. I enjoy audio. :)

Sara Edward Norton would make a great Wyatt! I kept picturing John Cusack, but I also couldn't imagine anyone other than John Cusack as a teenager playing the teenage Wyatt. Love this book so so much, and love your review!

Jennifer Masterson Bill wrote: "WOW ... now that is a highly favorable review :) Perhaps a strong read for the Reed=Westerlind Book Club???"

I loved this book, Bill. This was before I did audio so I read a hardcopy. I hope you get a chance to check it out. I look forward to your thoughts on it. :)

Chris Chambers I live a couple of miles from where the theater in the book was located. Used to go to the theater when i was younger--my dad and his felon friends with sneak us in saying we needed to go to the bathroom. The book brings back a lot of memories for sure.
