I've loved some of Jen Lancaster's writings, though others have missed the mark entirely for me. This book was adored by one friend whose tastes in reading are pretty similar to mine, but despised by another. I've tried several times to read this, and never gotten very far. Same this time. However, Jen Lancaster just appeared at an Post Courier Authors Luncheon, and was an amusing, articulate, and witty speaker, with a certain amount of depth. I suppose, were I to stick through with this, I'd find that woman. But first, I need the courage to get through the self-absorbed one in the first part of the book. Though I will say, she's honest. The subtitle of the book is "Confessions of a Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smartass, Or, Why You Should Never Carry A Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office".
