really liked it

This was sweet - a bit cheesy a times and also had a few instances of backward thinking when it comes to "foreigners" and some unrealistic ideas about beauty. All in all though, it was an easy read with a fairy tale quality to it. Although I've only read the first Anne book and enjoyed it much more (I know, I'm behind!), I'd say it's worth the read if you enjoy LLM's stories.

Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ I really liked about the first four Anne books, and then they got tedious. I also liked a lot of things in LLM's Emily of New Moon series, but the romance plotline in that trilogy about drove me bonkers.

Beth I'd like to read the second Anne book soon! I was kind of surprised that she grew up so fast, instead of spreading it out a bit more. That's what I was expecting anyway.

I haven't read the Emily trilogy either! Is the romance drawn out or something?

I feel like I missed something crucial in my childhood for not reading more of LMM's books, haha! Oh well, it's fun to catch up on now.

Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ Extreeeemely drawn out. With my least favorite romance trope, the Big Misunderstanding.

Beth That is my least favorite, too! I can't stand when they just don't communicate and make big assumptions and don't bother to actually ask for an explanation - it's so unrealistic. That would get on my nerves for sure. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has called it the "Big Misunderstanding," capital letters and all.
