The heroine deserved way better than someone who played with her heart and emotions, who treated her like trash after not seeing her for almost 20 years. ...more

This new release is a cowrite with her husband, and it’s a second chance romance between an ex-husband and ex-wife. She’s a workaholic on the way to making partner, and he’s ready to propose to his girlfriend on Christmas. Unfortunately, Katherine gets into an accident and her emergency contact is still her ex-husband, Tom, so he shows up at the hospital to see her. And since she has no one else, he’s forced to take her back home to his family for the holidays, where he’s supposed to be proposing... to another woman.
I wanted to love this so much more, but I was just… annoyed with everyone in this book. Katherine comes across as rude and selfish, Tom spends like 90% of the book wanting to marry someone else, and they have so many struggles trying to get back to Tom’s family. 99% of which were Katherine’s fault. It’s supposed to be a cute rom-com and I can kind of see it, but the bickering felt too childish to me. So the romance fell flat, and the characters weren’t all that interesting....more

I started with this latest book in the series, but it really didn’t affect my reading experience. This is Zane and Celeste’s second chance romance, and it's full of angst and emotions. They were childhood rivals – the kind where Zane would pick on Celeste because he wanted her and wanted her attention. The book is split into 2 parts, with the first being their childhood and how they first fell in love, and the second takes place in present day years later when they are enemies.
Part One is actually SO sweet. You get that feeling of falling in love for the first time along with Zane and Celeste, but you’re also kind of dreading getting to the end because you know something goes horribly wrong. It does, of course, go badly and we get to see the fallout of their breakup, all the hatred and hurt and anger in Part Two. Zane and Celeste go hard as enemies, but there's never any doubt that they've always been meant for each other.
What made this book for me was how even through all of Zane’s hate, you could tell how much he still loves Celeste and how he’ll always love her. She is The One for him, no matter what comes between them. Surprisingly, Celeste had some of her groveling to do, which I didn’t mind. She definitely messed up more than Zane did. Their romance had my heart going all over the place, and their HEA is definitely hard-won. I now want to go back and read the series from the beginning, because the couples from the earlier books do feature heavily and I’m interested in them all!...more

Vann is recovering from cancer (he lost an eye because of it) and gets the chance to reconnect with his sister’s best friend, who he had a secret relationship with and whose heart he broke years ago. Brooklyn just got divorced from her husband (who ended up marrying her mom, btw. It’s Alexandria House... so it’s gonna be messy) and she’s trying to build a new life for her and her daughter. She was basically a trophy wife, so now she has to learn to be on her own, get a job, etc. She reunites with Vann and the sparks between them are intense. I LOVED their chemistry, I loved the way these two never forgot each other, and I loved the strength of their connection. The romance is wonderful, but there is sooo much family drama going on. Both their parents were awful. If you don't mind messy drama, then this is for you! ...more
