If you’re a fan of BJ Alpha, you are going to want - scratch that, need - to read this one. I was thrilled to be back in the Brutal world. All the more exciting to have characters from the other series’ play a part in this story. Honestly, the way her worlds converge is nothing short of genius. Doesn’t mean I’m not seething over the cliffy. ...more

On the Guilt-ridden by the abhorrent behavior of his father, Damon Maxwell was merely trying to ensure Poppy Ambani’s safety when he became entranced.
On the worst day of her life, Poppy is soothed by the presence of another who remains hidden from view. Suffering another loss, she’s again comforted by her shadowed protector. As the days wear on, her mysterious guardian continues shielding and caring for her from the behind the scenes.
So… Yeah. Damon is next-level unhinged and I’m here for it. Relentless in his pursuit, with no fcuks to give, red flags rain down like confetti. I’m a simp for an unwavering hero. Not only does he not go soft, he makes it his mission to know Poppy better than himself. This not only serves his cause, but enables him to be the caretaker she didn’t even know she needed. Moreover, he embraces her unique personality traits, never expecting her to alter her behavior.
Just as I said with with 5,000 Nights, I would have liked to see more spice. Particularly because of the nature of their relationship and their explosive chemistry. However, just like with her parent’s story, I was invested in their story regardless.

She almost always feels his eyes on her, but she has never seen his face without a mask. Klaus finally has everything in place to make Bianca his once and for all. When the mask comes off, the crazy gets crazier, and the smut gets smuttier.
Given his level of cray cray, I really could’ve done with more than a novella. The WTF ending really solidified that, leaving me with questions (no cliff, just questions). That said, I enjoyed Klaus’ brand of ìnsaníty Bianca’s willingness to overlook his “flaws” in the name of love and devotion. However, there’s minimal plot to be found here. So, if that’s what you’re after, look elsewhere. If not, enjoy this smutty one-handed read for exactly what it is!

We’re also seeing our booktokker, Vallie, develop her relationships with the brothers. Further, there is not only smoking hot chemistry, there is a beautiful familial healing that takes place with Vallie as the driving force behind the reconciliation.
Nicci prepared us for minimal plot and maximum smut. While the duet is best read one-handed, I was completely invested in the brothers’ story and can’t wait for more titles from her Black Label.

Albeit from the shadows, Alaric has always there, loving and protecting her. But with danger closing in, anonymity is no longer an option.
Morally grey and obsessed hero? Yes, please! Feisty heroine who doesn’t turn into a doormat? Yes, please! Age gap, suspense, and spice? Yes, please! I can’t quite put my finger on what made this story feel like a departure from a typical Rachel book. But I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline!

Why is the dark romance community not losing their collective minds over this one? Leigh Rivers literally Frankensteined the perfect OTT J/P morally black alphahole. Then took our kînk wishlist and tada-ed TF out of it. I don’t re-read, ever. But if I did, I’d start with this one.

With his grades in jeopardy, he is willing to cross lines in order to remain on the hockey team, and keep his NHL dreams alive. That professor Cameron can make or break him, turns this battle of wills into a game. She has no hopes of winning. I’m pretty much speechless here. I’ve only read one other hero that comes close to this level of obsessed and I am here for it.
That ending… Like everyone else, I needed the rest of their story stat!

If you’ve been around for a while, you know my reviews always start with a brief overview, the broad strokes, if you will. I literally can’t do that here. I’m fearful that anything I say will be too much. And unless you have triggers, I highly recommend going in blind. This book is going to put you through the paces, but you really want that WTAF factor when the curveballs start flying.
So my summary is this: Insatiable is brilliant and heartbreaking and steamy and mindfuckingblowing.
Yes, the fancy stars are unique to this review because it deserves 50 billion stars, but my self-imposed scale only goes to five. Hence, fancy stars. ...more

A down-on-her luck, former ballerina, Oaklyn is just trying to get through one day at a time. When she begins to fear for her safety, she turns to the mysterious man who has a knack for showing up at just the right time.
I’m twisted up, conflicted, and tingly. Ambrose is unequivocally unlikable for most of the book. Yet, like a moth to a flame I’m drawn to his darkness. Oaklyn was a fun surprise. She was nothing like I was expecting and I loved that!

Despite a career as a successful influencer with a loyal following for her webcast, Witchful Drinking, she won’t allow herself to accept happiness with Kansas.
So, yeah… I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in with the 90s horror vibe meets cult. But the teasers and graphics made it impossible to pass up.
Kansas and Constantine, our MMCs, made the story! They were dominant and mysterious, not afraid to get their hands dirty. Yet, they loved Eisley without abandon. However, like some other reviewers, I didn’t connect with Eisley and I found some inconsistencies/plot holes. All in all, it was unique and entertaining, making for a great read as we enter the spooky season!

Holy mothertrucking shite y’all. I’ve had a lot of book boyfriends over the years. I wasn’t sure I’d ever find my perfect man, though a few have come close. Hear me now: The search is over; he has been found. Jacob Rhodes is the love of my life. He is the definition of a morally grey (very dark grey) alphahole with eyes only for his woman. Gentry and Karson were so different yet so similar. Watching them both evolve was fun, but Karson stole the show. Readers are definitely Along For the Ride because there is no clear path to their HEA. Not knowing how it’s all going to play out is nerve wracking and exciting and hot AF.

Despite never having shared that he had a crush on Willow, Miles is determined to make her pay for choosing his brother. Yet as their walls come down, feelings shift and Miles becomes obsessed with freeing Willow of her demons.
I freaking love this series and these obsessed, possessive hockey players. Miles is a little different from his teammates, but in the best ways. While domineering and a touch unhinged, he is simultaneously a caretaker with a sweet streak.
The pace and action were on point with some dark twists that will have you on the edge of your seat. The surprise chapters from familiar characters were a fun addition. Likewise, the Easter eggs have me giddy for what’s still to come in the series.

When pushed to date the daughter of a business partner, Linc accidentally texts the wrong number. Fed up with men, Monroe Bardot snarks back to the cocky man on the other end of the text thread.
When their banter takes a turn into more friendly territory, Linc becomes obsessed with the girl who could care less about his fame. Each text exchange endears her further to him until his feelings reach a fever pitch. Convinced she’s the one, Linc takes matters into his own hands to ensure she needs him as much as he needs her.
So… This book definitely lived up to the hype for me! I absolutely floved Linc and his brand of crazy.

What starts as a job on behalf of Edward White, a Syndicate leader, quickly becomes an obsession. And not just for Lorne, but his “brothers,” Caspian and Declan as well.
Seeing the grip each man’s tragic past had on him was heartbreaking. Declan, in particular, suffered unspeakable trauma and had a difficult time living in the present. Noelle was able to seamlessly fit into their lives and balance their darkness with her light.
That said, the progression of their relationship went well beyond instalove. To be clear, I have no issue with instalove. However, the pacing felt very rushed with very little development. I’m really waffling on my rating because this was frustrating, but their story held my attention and was enjoyable in other aspects. So, this one benefits from my round up.

After a lifetime of hard work and dedication, Briony Strait finds herself as the first female Magnus Princeps at the coveted Covenant Academy. Yet, the leadership will stop at nothing to ensure she doesn’t succeed or leak the secrets of the church.
Whew… I have been sitting on this review for nearly a week. A few thoughts: I almost always forget the finer points of a story within a day or two. Yet this one is still playing on repeat, which is a testament to the story and writing. That Sik Luv is a story with so many layers to peel back. I loved that just when you thought you had stripped them all away, there was a landmine waiting to fcuk up all your theories. There is intricate world-building replete with multidimensional characters, each bringing trauma, emotion, and character growth.
Moving on… I’ve seen quite a few reviews alluding to the similarities between Aero and Zade. I personally don’t see it beyond them both being dominant, unhinged alphas. If other readers see parallels I’m missing, cool. My advice, though, is don’t go into looking for a Zade doppelganger, Aero stands on his own.
There were a couple things I didn’t like. I felt like Briony’s 180 was hasty. It was suggested that she had some doubts about the teachings and the church itself before Aero, but it wasn’t explored. With a book just shy of 500 pages I feel like we could have seen the evidence of that so that it didn’t feel like she was “poof!” a new person all at once. Lastly, I was disappointed with an early decision of Aero’s. I was able to move on in the scheme of things. However, my personal opinion is that it was unnecessary for the storyline - its inclusion didn’t add anything, just as its omission wouldn’t have taken anything away.
Dang! This might be my longest review to date!! Bottom line is that I loved the story despite some details I didn’t.
