This entire book was 'blinked' into fruition by a man who had a severe stroke, rendering him a quadriplegic. His mind still active, he was able to blink his eyelid when the alphabet was said to him and he was able to communicate with others this way. He spelt words, strung sentences together and proved that a mind IS a terrible thing to waste! The book includes a number of short stories based upon his observances around his wheelchair, informing the reader of his fellow patients- the 'tourists' with broken legs/arms who will leave the hospital after a sufficient time in therapy- and the hospital patroness (Empress Josephine), whom he is friends with and speaks daily with as he passes her bust in the entranceway. It is of imagined events and reality meant to entertain said reader.
I cannot stress enough how much everyone should read this book. (It was made into a movie which I haven't seen.)...more

These disabled vets (& others) workout in a place called Baum's Boxing, run by another disabled vet and their lives intersect with each other and help each other. This bk was about lawyer Rhys and vet Cole and their budding relationship- with an ex, her hubbie and Cole's daughter. Awesome story, read it for yourself!...more

In my defense, I figured a lot of foreign names to keep track of, their jobs, etc. but it wasn't bad. The main story was about the mc's and the story timeline was moved along by their relationship to one another. Brilliant! (I never knew I thought so linear, so this truly shocked me.) I loved the final ending! So "Law & Order" with the left field thing! I'm already restarting this series again, it was SO GOOD!...more

There is no phone sex and I was REALLY anticipating some good-- or bad-- phone sex! The mental visual of him in thigh high boots was a gr8 early birthday present though. YOWZA!!
**(* I believe I'm reading the Cliffs Notes or Reader's Digest Condensed version. There's no phone sex and just fifty-five pages in length. Piss!

The only question is whether or not "more stars are needed"! They're so wonderful. Each is a stand-alone but to really delve wholeheartedly, one needs to start at the beginning. The bad guy from earlier in the series makes a repeat performance along with new problems. And Liam. Oo, a baddie (that still holds my heart)! And Zane said YES! SO happy!!
Not sure if this was supposed to be THAT funny but it was to my way of thinking. -----------
I loved this book. AGAIN!! I just cannot get enough of this series. I like the way Kelly, Nick, Zane & Ty play off each other-- and then in comes Chester with his trusty shovel to surprise everyone! Even me as I "forgot" about him....more

I've read MF historicals and even a bunch of MM but never in this sub-genre. It was good. I expected a lot of sword play and gruesome deaths to occur but it was more tongue firmly in cheek! 'Hawk' was not a pirate as much as a privateer out with his crew for revenge. Two sides to every story and all that although textbooks don't do justice to History. All in all a fun read....more
