Consistantly four stars!! This started out with Ethan and Gabriel (and past characters) so I wasn't too surprised when the story took a turn. And what a turn! I laughed so damn hard at the college students shenanigans- especially their 'missions' toward the end of their stay. E & G had some adventures of their own and I was thrilled they shared in the joy by helping out the younger. That's awesome.

Great new voice of the bodice-ripper genre with a wonderful fiesty heroine. It's the second in the Hart's Consulting series about (mostly?) human trafficking. Didn't think I'd enjoy the subject but it was as tastefully written as the versatile MC's allowed. I thought this would be two-books-in-one, but the first was two-thirds long. It was by Kathy Wheeler entitled A GIFT FOR THE DUKE's ILLEGITIMATE DAUGHTER and it was a Doozy! I figured with that title it wouldn't be a fairy maiden story and I was right! The word 'f*cking' was actually used. (Was hoping for 'p*nis' in place of 'c*ck' BUT it wasn't 'turgid' &/or 'manhood' so Equality still moves forward.) The second story, The MERRY WIDOW's CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE by Kathy Wheeler was daring but only in terms of the time period- and my life. Still enjoyable! RECOMMENDED.

I would've preferred the print version (cooking by phone is not as fun as one would imagine) but it's still doable. I wouldn't call myself a beginner but I do like ['prefer'] the easy recipes. Quick and cheap ['fast and budget-friendly'] are also preferred. I REALLY like this book! I've been adding pre-made sausage-like meat analogs-- what a mouthful!-- to a side dish or just eating two or three sides at a time. It's wonderful!! So happy I'm doing this for ME. This sSet in the 1950's of Cannes Film Festival, I was thrilled these people were names I knew: Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn to name just two. This set the scenery so well for me! I felt I was back in time with the jewel heist just having happened. It was a bit of a hoot (to me!) the thief suspected is named The Leopard as I thought of The Pink Panther as I read this. (Too serious a book for that nonsense though!) I was very aware of the ups/downs while reading this book and though my reading was slow- my Life got in the way- I'd definitely recommend this book. Especially if you like strong females in a lead role. As a jewelry designer in the 50's, Ms. Thorpe was a leader, I feel. True, it's just fiction but it had to start somewhere, hmm?
