(I skipped over the sex scenes while I'm confessing also. I wanted romance, dammit!) Took back one star but the story was good.

Set in South Africa, bartender/amnesiac Lucky is recognized by a past SEAL teammate and his quiet existence is in shambles. (He was a POW.) I liked the emotions portrayed by the characters: they felt truly genuine and believable. And the villian was a surprise! Mostly because I didn't expect one as I thought this plot point would go on for a couple books. Glad I was wrong!

(Like Romeo, at least in my version.) Don't want to spoil it but it reminds me of a Haiku poem: short, to the point, says what it needs to and leaves without a backward glance. Brava!!

This is book four but I understood what was happening. Truly happy for the mc’s and a decent crime story woven in as well. RecommendedWonderful title!

I'm also a newish fan of the Femme category. HOWEVER, are Masc men just straight men who are now gay? I don't think so but I really don't know. Anyhoo, I liked this book and the budding relationship between Jesse and Austin: it was believable. I'd still recommend this read. Great standalone!...more

(Did I even say that correctly? Sorry if wrong.) My only beef with this were the names: Taylor and Morgan and Cole. Cole was ok but I thought until I was halfway through the ENTIRE book that they (T and M) were the same guy. (I also wondered if this one guy was bipolar and when his 'secret' would be revealed-- but I digress.) I thought the wedding plan angle was good, too. I liked this so well I ordered the third book, Beautiful, but passed on Morgan's story. I'd recommend this!...more

Had a problem in the beginning as one of the MCs was an as*hole of the first order, hands down. But the story was funny, so I couldn't just leave it. Had a problem in the beginning as one of the MCs was an as*hole of the first order, hands down. But the story was funny, so I couldn't just leave it. I, too, hear voices in my pipes sometimes and they say intelligent things. TRUE things. So I had to keep reading. And, no, the ass wasn't the one listening to the pipes. (He's an electrician.) After I got into the story, I franticly began turning pages to see how it ends. I was shocked, surprised, tickled PINK at the ending!!! Mr. Lake, you have a new fan that can hardly wait for the next!...more
