I'll give you credit, helluva sex scenes that I felt were believable but it felt like instalove/-lust to me rather than two 'meeting of the minds'. I'll read it again to see what I can make of it but as of this writing, I'm not impressed.

Both of these men made each other better. I like that! Great as a short story (under 100 pages), a longer version wouldn't have been an improvement. RBoth of these men made each other better. I thought this would be two-books-in-one, but the first was two-thirds long. It was by Kathy Wheeler entitled A GIFT FOR THE DUKE's ILLEGITIMATE DAUGHTER and it was a Doozy! I figured with that title it wouldn't be a fairy maiden story and I was right! The word 'f*cking' was actually used. (Was hoping for 'p*nis' in place of 'c*ck' BUT it wasn't 'turgid' &/or 'manhood' so Equality still moves forward.) The second story, The MERRY WIDOW's CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE by Kathy Wheeler was daring but only in terms of the time period- and my life. Still enjoyable! RECOMMENDED.

(I don't have to be taught something when I read but it's highly satisfying, y'know? I'm out of school but history is history everyone should know.) I enjoyed the diverse characters, as well as their reactions to each other. Harvey is an MC living with her friend Mart. (For some reason I was glad they weren't the Gay Couple of the book, a different pairing was.) This sSet in the 1950's of Cannes Film Festival, I was thrilled these people were names I knew: Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn to name just two. This set the scenery so well for me! I felt I was back in time with the jewel heist just having happened. It was a bit of a hoot (to me!) the thief suspected is named The Leopard as I thought of The Pink Panther as I read this. (Too serious a book for that nonsense though!) I was very aware of the ups/downs while reading this book and though my reading was slow- my Life got in the way- I'd definitely recommend this book. Especially if you like strong females in a lead role. As a jewelry designer in the 50's, Ms. Thorpe was a leader, I feel. True, it's just fiction but it had to start somewhere, hmm?

This had a lot to do with the re-introduction of Billy and all his BS: I wanted to smack him! (Or at least run him over a few times.)
