(I skipped over the sex scenes while I'm confessing also. I wanted romance, dammit!) Took back one star but the story was good.

The review: 'Sorry' to Mr. Greyson but I didn't buy their story. I'll give you credit, helluva sex scenes that I felt were believable but it felt like instalove/-lust to me rather than two 'meeting of the minds'. I'll read it again to see what I can make of it but as of this writing, I'm not impressed.

Both of these men made each other better. I like that! Great as a short story (under 100 pages), a longer version wouldn't have been an improvement. RBoth of these men made each other better. Consistantly four stars!! This started out with Ethan and Gabriel (and past characters) so I wasn't too surprised when the story took a turn. And what a turn! I laughed so damn hard at the college students shenanigans- especially their 'missions' toward the end of their stay. E & G had some adventures of their own and I was thrilled they shared in the joy by helping out the younger. That's awesome.

It's the second in the Hart's Consulting series about (mostly?) human trafficking. Didn't think I'd enjoy the subject but it was as tastefully written as the versatile MC's allowed. (The MC's were rescuers.) This was a standalone but might help to keep the characters seperate. I'd not read this author before but I will definately read the next. Exciting and not just the sex! This sSet in the 1950's of Cannes Film Festival, I was thrilled these people were names I knew: Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn to name just two. This set the scenery so well for me! I felt I was back in time with the jewel heist just having happened. It was a bit of a hoot (to me!) the thief suspected is named The Leopard as I thought of The Pink Panther as I read this. (Too serious a book for that nonsense though!) I was very aware of the ups/downs while reading this book and though my reading was slow- my Life got in the way- I'd definitely recommend this book. Especially if you like strong females in a lead role. As a jewelry designer in the 50's, Ms. Thorpe was a leader, I feel. True, it's just fiction but it had to start somewhere, hmm?

I like Ms Barnes but had a difficult time turning pages and didn't get past the twenty-five percent mark. The story sounded so promising to me but the first quarter of the book needs editing with a hatchet! Just devote a chapter to how they meet, how they want to help each other then the other eighty percent or more to the actual story. Thank goodness this was a Freebie. [Yes it did take me over five months to read a quarter of this.]...more
I was not thrilled with the surgeon. A snobby asshat imo. I did like the mechanic but the story needed to be longer for the L word to be uttered. (I'dI was not thrilled with the surgeon. We're now past the Volunteers (hmm, maybe) but we are introduced to another (cleaned up) version of the same agenda. Huh. I'm starting to think Somers may indeed be an alcoholic. We were also introduced to frat boy G. Dulac, Somers new partner. A worthwhile read nonetheless-- if only to keep up-to-date with the arc and stay in the loop, character-wise....more
