Although this author has been around for a while and I have heard lots of praise for her poetry, this is the first time that I have ever read anything she had written. This book did contain some of her poetry, but mostly it was her prose writing which I found filled with beauty, grace, wisdom, and honesty. It was delightfully satisfying to read. I will have to try a book of just her poetry someday soon....more

This book can certainly be read for one's own study, but also can be used in a classroom. There are many explanatory notes throughout and lots and lots of helpful stuff in the back....more
